Since 2002, I have practiced in the areas of probate and conservatorships (general and limited), and I have filed probate matters in counties all over the state of California. I am happy to assist you with your probate matter, beneficiary representation, conservatorships of the person or estate, limited conservatorships or guardianship of the estate. I do not take contested matters and I do not take guardianship of the person (where someone needs to get custody of a minor). I only file guardianships and conservatorships in San Diego County.
My firm has temporarily closed our satellite offices in La Mesa, Chula Vista, and Vista due to the pandemic, but we are taking in-person meetings in our La Jolla office or I can arrange a virtual meeting with you by MS Teams, Zoom or various other means, including telephone.
I was co-chair of the San Diego County Bar Association Elder Law section in 2006-2007, co-chair of the San Diego County Bar Association Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Section in 2013-2014 and chair of the San Diego Probate Bench-Bar Committee in 2015. I was a contributing author of the 2015 San Diego County Probate Handbook, published by Probate Attorneys of San Diego and was an editor and contributing author in 2017, 2019, and 2021. In 2005, I was hired by the State of California to train Adult Protective Services employees in advocating for senior citizens and dependent adults’ legal rights through the use and interpretation of estate planning documents. I instructed over 700 Adult Protective Services employees throughout the State of California.
I am a “superb” rated (10/10) attorney on Avvo.com. My organizational affiliations include: Probate Attorneys of San Diego, San Diego County Bar Association Elder Law section and Estate Planning, Trust and Probate section, San Diego Superior Court Probate Bench-Bar Committee, and the California State Bar Association Trust and Probate section. I received my B.A. in history from California State University, San Marcos and my law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
