I obtained my Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in San Diego after completing a two year accelerated program in September 1990, then began practicing as an attorney in San Diego after passing the February 1991 California State Bar exam. Wanted to say thank you to Kathy and John her assistant as they have on a few occassions been in great assistance to my companies legal needs. They are very easy to reach either email or phone call, honest and reasonable. I would highly recommend using their office. Thanks again.

After my dog was stolen in Maryland, the theif fled to California and I had to enroll the order to get my dog back in California. Ms. Winn seemed professional at first, but after about a week, she stopped contacting me. I made sure to call at least once a week to make sure everything was rolling alon...
I'm sorry if you are unhappy with my office; however, it is not true that there was a lack of communication. My file shows 17 saved emails sent from my office to you and 26 telephone calls to you over 6 months. There are additional communications that were not saved. Your judgment from Maryland could not just be “enrolled” in California. I had to file an entirely separate lawsuit and then file a motion to ask the court to issue a writ of possession without giving any notice whatsoever to the defendant. I also requested that the writ of possession be issued without requiring you to post a bond while requiring the defendant to post a $50,000.00 bond if he wanted to contest the writ of possession. These requests are almost always denied. Once we obtained the ex parte order for a writ of possession, it took several months for the court clerk to actually issue the writ of possession. During this time I personally drove by the residence to see whether I could determine if the dog was actually there. As soon as the writ of possession was issued, we contact the Sheriff’s department to serve the writ of possession and recover the dog. The Sheriff had never recovered a dog and had to determine what procedures they would need to follow. They were also extremely hesitant to recover a chow/pit bull mix. My office had daily conversations with the Sheriff about recovering the dog and the status of serving the Writ of Possession. My office staff went to PetSmart to pick up the kennel required for the Sheriff to pick up the dog and personally delivered it to the Sheriff’s office some 45 miles away. The Sheriff was not able to serve the Writ of Possession and take possession of the dog until 12/21/15 and this was after someone from that office made five prior attempts to pick up the dog. We were initially told by the Sheriff that you would be able to pick up your dog on 1/4/16 due to the mandatory waiting period. This later changed to 1/2/16. Detailed instructions were emailed to you by my office and discussed with you over the phone. The release that you needed to pick up the dog was not sent to our office until 12/31/15, at which time it was immediately sent it to you via email. You could have printed the email on any computer. It is untrue that neither you nor the Sheriff were able to get hold of my office. My file reflects multiple telephone calls with both you and the Sheriff on 12/28/15, 12/29/15 and 12/31/15. The next day was New Years’ Day so both offices were closed. My assistant came to the office on Saturday 1/2/16 for the sole purpose of making sure that you were able to pick up the dog without incident and spoke with you that day. She had a copy of the release and told you this. My assistant contacted me that day as well, in tears because you were yelling at her.
