I had a most ugly situation happen a few weeks ago. Someone, or a group of people planned, then executed an astonishing fraud on one of my bank accounts. This was a slick job, they fooled not just me, but also 3 banks in 2 countries, armed with some of the most sophisticated fraud detection resources... on the planet. Naturally, when the bank discovered it, they came after me, hard and heavy. First, they shut down BOTH my business and personal accounts and they froze all my money. Then they crashed my FICO score by -150 points, overnight! Then, they got mad-dog frothing mean about things. They made threats, they hurled accusations, and none of it was true; I was just an easy mark for some bankster whose job was now in jeopardy. Over three weeks, this bank shut down my life. I was not able to pay bills, indeed I was not even able to see what bills I owed. Take this life advice – NEVER keep all your assets in one bank! I hit a wall at this point, having reached the limit of my knowledge and having been set upon by those highly skilled in breaking people, and then shaking them down, to cover for their ineptitude. Who do you call in a situation like this? I needed a lawyer, but what kind of lawyer? The California Bar Association lists no specialty for dealing with thug bankers. Perhaps they should consider adding this category. I saw Terrence Fantauzzi was near my office, he had amazing reviews, and he deals with bankruptcy; ‘bank’ caught my attention. Close enough! Terrence answered me quickly and he offered either a phone call or an office visit. The next day, I met Terrence. After a few words, I knew this fellow was a based, confident, highly educated man of steel. I have had sleepless night for years due to families financial hardship. I originally reached out to approx 5 different BK attorneys 2 years before filing chapter 7. I had no knowledge of BK. I wasn't clear what assets would be protected including my home. Terrence was the only attorney who too...k the time to answer all my questions. It was very very tight figures when it came to if my home would be 100% protected under homestead. When other attorneys said that I "might" be ok, lets roll the dice, Terrence gave me specific answers to my questions and suggested that it might be a possibility that the home prices could rises during the chapter 7 filing that might put my home at risk. He advised that it might be a good idea to wait till next year to file when homestead protection figures would increase. He told me this even after I already gave him a deposit retainer fee. When most attorneys would try to earn the business right then and there, Terrence had my families best interest over his own profit. I waited another entire year before reaching out to him again to file. He looked over my entire finances again and suggested that we should now be ok to file, since homestead figures came in higher for the new year to 100% protect my home. The hardest part was gathering all the necessary documents to file but they made it very easy with a clear check list of items I needed. Terrences's assistants Liz & Alicia took over at this time to complete all the court documents to file. Liz & Alicia was very pleasant to deal with and they responded to any of my questions / inquires in a very expeditious manner at all times. Almost exactly two months after we filed, I received the good news that all my debt was discharged!!! My entire BK process was little over 2 years. 2 years of stress but when it came to actually pulling the trigger to file, it was rather a surprisingly a smooth sail and easier process then I anticipated. All thanks to Terrence's office! I am so lucky I found Terrence to help us with the most important decision I've ever made in my life & so blessed that my family now has a 2nd chance fresh start to our finances.
