A previous poster summed it up perfectly with the line "Don't let your Ex hire him..." Chris is a gifted attorney that brings with him an unparalleled knowledge of the law and passion for helping his clients. He also has a team at his office that are always friendly and willing to help. Chris' true g...ift in my opinion is the attitude he brings to the courtroom. Witnessing Chris in the courtroom is similar to watching a gifted QB surgically dismantle a defense, after a while you start to feel bad for the other attorney...not really though. I was in a particularly bad custody situation with my Ex that had gone on far too long and while no one ever comes out of a legal matter such as mine feeling great about everything, I felt Chris did an amazing job at negotiating my case and ultimately got me everything I had asked for. Chris at times comes across as very short and direct but I quickly learned this was not because he is rude or unwilling to chat (he is actually a really funny guy), it was done purposefully with my wallet in mind. Few attorneys will actually stop themselves from collecting additional funds by saying "hold up, I can't help you there" but Chris did. Putting it bluntly if you want to have someone listen to your problems, give you advice, make you feel better about your personal situation then go to a family therapist they are way cheaper. I researched many of the so called top attorneys in the area for a case that could change mine and my sons lives forever. Many people kept mentioning Mr. Abernathy and used descriptions like confident, aggressive, expert, even arrogant. Hes well known and respected by other lawyers and judges and is ...aggressive in his case strategy. He has already disrupted the opposing attorneys strategy and requested and was granted my ex to pay for ALL psychological reviews. I referred myself to Mr. Abernathy after watching him in court represent another person while waiting for my case to be heard. I was shocked at how well he was able to maneuver the court and destroy some false allegations that the other side had made in an effort to get more money (child support). ...I was a severe underdog in my case and after being fleeced by another attorney it was tough to hire another person but all I can tell you is I hope more people find Mr. Abernathy first. When I hired Mr. Abernathy the opposing counsel and judge pretty much laughed at us because I was in such bad shape with many false allegations against me and keeping my child from me in an effort to get more support. Mr. Abernathy proceeded to expose all of the false allegations swiftly and effectively and the opposing side buckled after an hour on the stand of story after story being properly pointed out that did not match up. At any point in this situation you need an attorney like Mr. Abernathy that is going to aggressively approach every situation at hand. Even if the opposing side acts calm when they are liable to try any tactic to win. I had the right man on my team to say all the right court room objections at all the right times and I had no clue why or exactly what they meant but the judge upheld them which means he knew exactly what he was doing. He is prompt punctual and handles your time management with fairness. The ex had the nerve to take several stabs at me again over the years and failed every time with my credit going to having a great lawyer that I trust and that gets the job done.
