I came to Joy after several years of custody issues with my daughter that I thought would resolved by itself. Initially I would only see my daughter one night a week and one day on the weekend with no overnights. I tired to reason with my ex but with no success. The odds of getting equal custody (50/...50) were not in my favor, but I figured something had to be done because I wasn't seeing my daughter and I didn't want to lose the precious time with my young daughter. I was scared of the legal cost the might incur during the process and the child support I will need to pay (my ex has not been working, or at least claimed to not be working). What started out as a simple custody case quickly escalated into a legal nightmare when the mother of my child filed a restraining order and tried every legal maneuver to prolong the custody hearing of our child. Joy and her team were able to diffused the legal roller coasters I was going through, present the judge with the facts and show the lack of credibility of my ex. On one of our court appearances, my ex managed to changed the judge (a commissioner) to a different court house at the same day in the afternoon. Joy had another case in the afternoon and could not represent me, however, she managed to find just as good replacement to represent me at a moment notice free of charge! Sounds too good to be true. When I first came in to consult with Joy about my situation I was worried about the legal cost that might add up. I will never forgot when she said "this will be the best money you ever spent". Boy was she right! I now have 50/50 custody, don't have to pay my ex as much child support as we originally anticipated, Joy managed to convince the judge to impute more than a minimum wage salary on my ex, but most of all I have the peace of mind my daughter will share equal time with both of her parents.
