Sevag S Simonian

Sevag Simonian was born in Los Angeles, California.  He earned his bachelor of arts in political science with honors from Pepperdine University in 2007.  He earned his juris doctorate from the University of La Verne in 2011.

Mr. Simonian was admitted to the California Bar in 2011 and has successfully represented clients in a vast array of different legal areas.  His vast litigation experience as an attorney includes the following:

Complex Business Litigation and Disputes                        

• Successfully represented Individuals and entities in both state and federal courts, on various issues dealing with violations of Business and Professions Code provisions, fraud, quiet title, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing, negligence, and various other Civil Code violations.
• Represented and defended major corporations and other business entities, in both state and federal court, in complex litigation matters involving breach of contract disputes and fraud regarding issues in real estate transactions and disbursement of insurance proceeds.    
• Represented individuals in suits against multi-billion dollar corporations and financial institutions in both state and federal court, for a variety of different issues resulting from misrepresentations, fraud, negligence, violations of finance lender laws, infliction of emotional distress and various other Civil Code violations.

Bankruptcy Law

• Specialize in Chapter 7 Bankruptcies.  Successfully represented numerous individuals and business entities in achieving debt relief through a complete discharge in Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings.   Mr. Simonian has vast experience with the different Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustees throughout Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside Counties.  
• Negotiated multiple debt settlements and reaffirmation agreements with various different creditors coming after debtors in Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings.
• Successfully defended debtors against creditors and/or trustees attempting to lift the automatic stay under 11 U.S. Code § 362 in order to commence collection efforts or suits against debtors.  
• Successful in achieving complete debt relief through a Chapter 7 discharge while preventing the debtor’s assets from liquidation by the trustee.
• Specialize in Chapter 13 Bankruptcies.  Successfully represented numerous individuals and business entities in reorganizing and restructuring debts in Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings.  
• Successfully represented numerous homeowners with mortgages in default and saved their homes from foreclosure while allowing the homeowners to become fully current on their secured debts while enjoying the protections under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
• Successfully achieved confirmations on numerous Chapter 13 plans with payouts to unsecured creditors between zero to ten cents on the dollar.
• Achieved great success and stripping junior liens (2nd mortgages) through effectively filing and arguing Motions in Chapter 13 Bankruptcy proceedings.
• Represented Debtors on a variety of different Motions and Objections in Chapter 13 cases including motions to dismiss, objection to confirmation, motions for relief from the automatic stay, motions to set aside, motions to impose automatic stay, motions to continue automatic stay.
• Successfully filed and litigated Adversary Proceedings against various different creditors within a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy case.

Landlord-Tenant

• Acted as counsel for various tenants and landlords in issues and disputes concerning tenancy and lease agreements.  
• Have drafted various types of lease agreements and insurance agreements for landlords and residential property owners.
• Have vast experience in successfully representing tenants, home-owners and landlords in unlawful detainer actions following foreclosures, negligence or any breach of the landlord-tenant lease agreement.
• Successfully negotiated settlement agreements on behalf of tenants and homeowners facing unlawful detainer actions.

• Have vast experience in representing appellants in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Appellate District Courts of California.
• Successfully brought and defended a variety of different appellate motions and filed Appellate Briefs in a concerning a variety of different complex legal issues up on appeal.
• Conducted oral arguments regarding legal and procedural issues in front of the California Appellate Court.
