Leonard Manalo

Leo Manalo is a fantastic criminal attorney. He is extremely responsive and gave me his personal cell, replying right away to my calls, as well as texts. Leo is very forthright and realistic when it comes to setting client expectations of possible outcomes, but always communicated in a calm, sympathe...tic and reassuring demeanor that put me at ease in the face the most nerve-racking experience of my life. He was concise and clear about my options and the decisions I needed to make, explaining it all in simple, 'non-lawyer' terms and answering every question, regardless of how silly they seemed. Leo has a great relationship with prosecutors and court staff, which no doubt played a significant roll in facilitating and expediting what ended up being an easy negotiation of my case. We settled without having to go to trial, and with a much better outcome than I even expected. The cherry on top was when we were standing in the courthouse, ready to sign the paperwork reflecting the details we had negotiated with the prosecutor, which I was satisfied with, and he said to me, "You know, I don't want you to take this deal... I'm going to try one more thing..." He walked back into the courtroom and came out a few minutes later with an even lesser charge than we negotiated. Boom. That level of tenacity is impressive. That's the difference between a public defender, to whom you are simply a case number, and a skilled criminal attorney at the top of his game. There is no comparison. When you're faced with the prospect of putting your fate in someone else's hands, especially in a situation that has massive potential impact on your life going forward, Leo's demeanor, expertise, communication and thoroughness are invaluable. After court, he sent me an email summarizing everything, pertinent dates and my exact obligations going forward. Court documents can be confusing and unclear, and sometimes the clerk's handwriting can be difficult to read, so Leo completely 'idiot-proofed' for me. I highly recommend him and, if I ever need a criminal attorney again (god forbid), there is no other attorney I would call.

Outstanding communication between attorney, inmate, and advocate representing inmate(brother). I truly felt this man and his associate, Mark put the same tireless effort, tenacity, and determination into my brother’s case as if it were his own family member erroneously incarcerated. By securing not o...nly my brother’s release, but compelling the judge with adequate supporting documentation to do so. Through that process Leo was able to prove sufficiently that the judge should rectify my brother’s record so as to remove the felony and get all pending(and in my opinion, bureaucratically induced)charges dropped! My brother was able to salvage his job, maintain his home for his family, and successfully get his life back on track with no future pending issues or litigation! Leo And his associate Mark treated us with the upmost respect and had the best communication throughout the whole process. I was in a tough spot in my life, and my attorney Leonard Manalo helped and aided me out of the situation. He is a true life saver! My situation occurred in the summer of 2014. I got caught in an situation that led to an altercation with a couple of officers from a Los Angeles county-based sheriff...s' department . Within that altercation, I was assaulted, pepper sprayed, forcefully dragged against my will, beaten, and eventually, handcuffed, arrested, and during that process they went through the vehicle and found illegal substances. I went through the process, hospital, booking, jail and bailed out. I was charged with 3 drug-related felony counts, and a couple of misdemeanors. Shortly after posting bail, I contacted a friend of mine, who through gods will, put me into contact with my Attorney, Leo. I remember Leo answering my first phone call on the third ring, and we briefly discussed my situation over the phone, and moved forward to setting up a meeting the same week. Upon meeting, the first thing I noticed was the level of professionalism and confidence that thrived within the corners of that office. We discussed my situation, and went over all the details, he asked me a set of questions, and then he applied his knowledge and literally mapped out multiple plans and scenarios on the spot right there and then. I also noticed that he truly cared about my situation in regards in how it pertains and related to my life. As we proceeded with the case, it was November of 2014, and the first day of court came, and he had many outlines of various detailed forms of how exactly we were going to fight the case. We started by filing for dismissal of one of the 3 felony charges, and we did get granted dismissal of a felony trafficking charge! We also went through the discovery process and ended up finding some great evidence. I can't name every single filing that he did off top( because I'm no attorney), but I do know this, January came about and we had another court date, and on that date we got two felony charges dropped down to misdemeanors, and the other two misdemeanors were dropped completely! By the end of the process, we were able to fight the case all the way, and based on completion of the dej program, we were able to get a grant of dismissal of the entire case! It was a true blessing to have them at my side, helping me defend, and protect myself! I couldn't be happier with the results! Leonard and his entire team are true legitimate professionals, with good hearts and great minds, they know how to get the job done! I would highly recommend to anyone that's in an unfortunate situation, to hire Leo and his entire team to come to your aid, and help you get out of a tough spot!
