Donald Potter is successful employment lawyer with more than 25 years of experience in the field. His practice is dedicated to representing employees and he is an aggressive litigator who has handled thousands of labor and employment matters including claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage-and hour-violations. Mr. Potter has obtained multiple, court-approved wage-and-hour class action settlements filed on behalf of employees since opening his own law firm in 2008. Prior to 2008, Mr. Potter practiced law with a national labor and employment law firm, Seyfarth Shaw, LLP and he was a partner at Burke Williams & Sorensen, LLP in Los Angeles, California.
Mr. Potter has published numerous articles on employment law topics in newspapers and journals. He has also lectured and trained various organizations on labor and employment law.
Mr. Potter is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts in California. Mr. Potter is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Labor and Employment Law Section and the California Employment Lawyers Association.
Educational Background
Mr. Potter graduated from Loyola Law School (Los Angeles, CA) in 1997. Mr. Potter was a member of the Scott Moot Court Honors Board and Loyola’s award-winning Jessup International Moot Court Team. He was also a Carmen Florine Scholarship recipient.
Mr. Potter received his undergraduate degree from Ithaca College (Ithaca, NY). He was a member of the Oracle Honor Society (top ten percent of the first year class) and a student-athlete on two NCAA National Championship wrestling teams.
Personal
Mr. Potter and his wife are the proud parents of three adult daughters. His firm is an American Youth Soccer Organization (“AYSO”) sponsor and Mr. Potter has served as an AYSO coach and referee.
