With Ms. Bartick's background and dedication, she is an asset in pre-trial negotiations, and if necessary, ready to capably defend her client's case in trial.
Ms. Bartick has been responsible for bringing over a dozen jury trials to verdict for misdemeanor cases. Her past experience also includes completing more than 150 preliminary hearings for clients facing felony charges. She has assisted individuals accused of a wide variety of crimes, including DUI, weapons and drug charges, theft, assault, and attempted murder.
As a criminal attorney, Ms. Bartick gains tremendous satisfaction advocating for the constitutional rights of clients who have been arrested and accused of a crime. Ms. Bartick is dedicated to easing the path for her clients (and their family members) as they navigate a difficult circumstance.
Ms. Bartick earned her J.D. in Indiana, where she studied at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. As a law student, she volunteered at the United States District Court - Southern District of California in San Diego, assisting in the chambers of the Honorable Barbara L. Major. She also participated in an externship in the Criminal Division of Marion County Superior Court and pursued volunteer work at a criminal defense clinic in Indianapolis.
Ms. Bartick's post-bar legal career has been devoted exclusively to criminal defense work. A passion for criminal defense may have been in her blood; her father, David Bartick, was a criminal defense lawyer for 30 years, and served as a federal judge in the U.S. Southern District Court in San Diego.
Ms. Bartick's past experience includes work as a Public Defender in the Ventura County Public Defender's Office and in the Kern County Public Defender's Office in Bakersfield. Post bar, she got her start clerking for the Public Defender's Office in Ventura, then was later offered the position as Deputy Public Defender.
With a special interest in DUI, Ms. Bartick has pursued targeted training with the DUI Defense Lawyers Association (DUIDLA). She has successfully handled all types of DUI cases, including marijuana DUI, drug DUI and aggravated DUI.
Ms. Bartick has been active with the American Bar Association since her law school days, when she was elected Vice Chair of the Law Student division. She is currently an Emerging Leader of the Young Lawyer's Division.
A recent transplant to Long Beach, Ms. Bartick is spending free time enjoying the coastal lifestyle. Her favorite activities include indulging her dog, Fiona, with long walks on the beach. In addition to an interest in creative cooking, she has a passion for fitness and can frequently be found spending free hours at the gym.
