Unethical Conduct

Mr.Young was hired to represent a group of 5 professional women and1 professional man, in a lawsuit against our employer. After 4 of the group decided not to pursue the case because of Mr. Youngs professional conduct, Mr. Young sent out emails threatening that if these 4 did not rejoin the suit they... would loose all rights in the case forever more. This is a total lie. Those of us still remaining fired Mr. Young after he continued to ask for more money while providing no action on our case. Four of us have still not received our retainer money back. I have had positive experiences with 2 other attorneys in the past. They were extremely ethical and competent. Mr. Young is just the opposite. I don't know why he is still allowed to "practice" law .

Do your homework before hiring an attorney

A group of 6 hired Mr. Young for a labor dispute. He stated that he would send out a letter to our employer the first wk. of Dec.. It did not go out until the first week of Jan.. The letter was reviewed by a mem-ber of the group and it was inaccurate. He charged us to make the correction. He misinfor...med us and did not follow through as promised. Some of us tried to make concessions for his conduct but in the end we all had to rescind our agreement with him. Don't make the mistake we did and waste valuable time. Hire a competent attorney.

DO NOT RETAIN JOE YOUNG!!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Joe NEVER followed up for 9 months, charges were filed 11 months after incident. Joe made NO effort to contact me, NEVER appeared in court. I found out (on my own) 2 years after incident that I had a charge in CA. I had already paid for ALL legal costs to Joe upfront. Now that I live out of state, Jo...e wants at least $1000.00 more. I declined and demanded a refund since HE HAD DONE NOTHING ON MY CASE. AT FIRST HE LIED and said he went to court however, changed his story when I verified with court that he never showed. Even the Public Defenders Office stated they found NO information about him regarding my case. He should be investigated by authorities. He then stated that my calls to collect a refund were billed at $800.00 an hour and said that "used up" the money I already paid him.

Joe Young is a crooked law firm

Last year, 2008, I hired Mr. Young to handle my DUI. He came to my work, listened to my story, and assured me that he could win my case for me. He always had different "lawyer's" showing up to represent me, never himself, and these people had tattoo's, tennis shoes that looked like they've been worn ...for years, wearing night dinner purses while standing in front of the judge with me by their side. I must have had 4-5 different, proclaimed lawyers, representing me. Also, whenever I felt uncomfortable with something, I would call Mr. Young, and he always was giving me different phone numbers, then other people would answer them saying it wasn't his phone number, and he seemed to be always sick and in the emergency room. Joe wanted $1,800.00 for him to handle my case, and one good thing that came out of it, was he was willing to take payments if I couldn't come up with a large amount. Upfront, I gave him 500.00 to get him started. And at first, he seemed to be very motivating with me. He gave me the impression that he was going to fight for me...well, boys and girls, don't believe for one second! This guy works a "circus" act. What I had to do first was, fire Joe. There was a balance I owed at the time of $250.00. He wasn't concerned on why I was firing him, even though I did send him a letter explaining why, all he cared about was that little $250.00 coming his way. Oh by the way, I never talked to him ever again except for his rude people that always would have different names all the time calling me. I received letters regarding my balance and I sent another back to him, after a while pasted, I received another statement from them. Someone wrote on it, "excused from Joe", but no signature. Now, I received a call yesterday out of nowhere from some woman (ELLEN) that really needs to stop smoking, that is telling me I need to call them TODAY to pay my balance or it's going to collections. Previously, I told Ellen that if they want to attack my credit in these days of hard times for a small amount after being fired for not fighting for me, then they can take me to small claims and I would be more than happy to tell the judge how this "IDIOT" scams innocent people out of money. Besides, I don't think $250.00 will "break" Mr. Young’s pocket. So people, take it from me, DO NOT GIVE THIS GUY A PENNY! He is a scam. By the way, I went out and got a more professional lawyer and WON my case!
