A few words of appreciation for Mr. Mark Swatik and his office at Burkley Brandlin Swatik & Keesey LLP. For the last couple of years, my wife and I have been searching for a top caliber attorney to assist with creating a Living Trust. Due to the big families on both sides - here in the U.S. and o...verseas, we had a few unique challenges vs. a typical family with children. Until we met Mr. Swatik, no one was willing (or probably wasn’t knowledgeable enough) to carefully listen and understand our situation, then articulate how a U.S.-based living trust would and would NOT address our unique situation. Furthermore, Mr. Swatik took our paperwork on his personal trip during Christmas/New Year. His office was also extremely responsive to our phone calls and emails. And finally, in an extremely thorough review meeting, Mark presented the finalized living trust documents to us - where we were highly impressed by his meticulous and efficient process. Good communicator and Transparent! I selected Mark as my real estate legal representative after conducting thorough research because I felt that he had a good balance of knowledge and integrity. I spent a couple of months reading up on real estate law on my own, and also interviewed half a doze...n real estate attorneys in person (this didn't come cheap as most charged for the hour that I spent with them). What separated Mark from the others are two things: 1. he'll tell you what he knows and what he doesn't and 2. he is part of firm that has experienced partners that can cover the span of future issues that I may run up against. No one is going to have all the answers, so it was important to me that I have a lawyer that can be honest about his strengths and weaknesses, and also have a team of experienced partners. Upon completion of the incorporation, I was provided an organized binder containing incorporation and supporting documents. Mark assisted with the completion of the first minutes meeting and after walking through the binder, detailed the next steps. He has an extensive network of supporting businesses and offered introductions to an accountant who mirrors his attention to detail. Navigating the legal waters of business law could have been stressful and posed significant risk. With Mark, I was able to complete the process without error, and can consult his expertise when I need it.
