Debra J Burdette

The experience that i've encountered with Debra J. Burdette's office was the worst experience that I ever had to encounter with legal representation. Please be advised, it is very imperative to do your homework on "jurisdiction technicalities." I explained to Debra my concerns involving my children b...eing sent pornographic photos via text from another child which was their brother who has a different mother from my children, but they share the same dad. I explained the concerning circumstances in reference to my concerns surrounding kids exposure to porn due to their sibling, obviously not being watched accordingly by his parents. The child that sent the porn via text to my kids cell phone lives in a different jurisdiction/County here in California which is outside of the jurisdiction of the appointed Los Angeles County Court House where this case was established/proceeding held. It was during the discovery of the Family Law Court Hearing that the Judge could not do anything with this case at all because the child that sent the porn, residential address is outside of the Pasadena Court House which is in the County of Los Angeles jurisdiction. My children reside with me here in Southern California and their dad lives in Northern California. Unfortunately the judge dismissed the case and kids dad, also their brother were not held accountable for exposing these kids to pornographic photos. Debra Burdette shown herself to be pretty incompetent because based on her professional experience in "Family Law" she should of known that there was going to be an issue with "jurisdiction" and that the judge could not address this case because the 7 year old brother that sent the pornographic text lives outside of the Los Angeles County Jurisdiction, therefore Debra, should not have taken on this case and declined it as well, not scamming me for my hard earned money. Debra either to demonstrated knowledge in this gray area of jurisdiction or she knew about the "jurisdiction" opposing to be an issue and she just decided to take my money and not do the right thing by declining to take on a case that she failed miserably at on terms of professional presentation. She actually delayed email communications for significant periods of time, being non-responsive to the point I could only get a quick response if I sent a text via her direct cell phone number, and then she would demonstrated her unwillingness to help. I've had quite a few experiences with Attorneys which were excellent, and she was the first attorney that lacks a great deal of knowledge with Family Law cases as it relates to "jurisdiction", & she has operators that answers her office line and all they do is take messages. You can never reach her at the office. As a matter of fact, she turned out to be a complete night mare and I would never recommend her to anyone. It was very imperative for me to write this review so that you can do your research prior to seeking Debra J. Burdette for legal representation and wasting your heard earned money on a SCAMMER!!!!

***please do not hire this lawyer!!! All she cares about is $$. I hired this lawyer for a custody issue. She didn’t take time to listen to my concerns and was such a pushover! She was disorganized and all over the place. She led me to believe one thing and Bullied me into agreeing to BS from opposing... party! All that because she didn’t want to put in some work. I feel so misrepresented and wasted my money and time with her. She might be good in some other area of law, but family law is clearly NOT her strong suit! I will not recommend her to anyone.

Debra is representing me in my divorce proceedings. My ex wife and her attorney are trying to make every step difficult for me. Constantly intimidating me, falsely making statements, not to mention being unresponsive to emails requesting documents. Debra is a fighter, and she will fight for your inte...rests as if it were her own. During my divorce I was amazed how caring, honest, and compassionate she is with her clients. Everything is working out for me which I thought was near impossible. I truly appreciate the fact that she doesn’t waste any time, is extremely thorough, and most importantly she didn’t let the opposing counsel get away with wasting our time when they disappeared during the remote hearings. In fact today she gave me great news that she asked the Judge to grant a sanction for Attorney fees. I made the best decision to chose her after consulting with several different Attorneys. If you want someone who GETS THINGS DONE…Debra is the only one. I can’t thank her enough for getting me through this turmoil with my ex wife.

I hired Debra J. Burdette to end my divorce. She was my lawyer for 40 days. She is a terrible Attorney. Do not waste your money or time dealing with Debra J. Burdette. Here is what I experienced: - Lots of promises from Debra before retaining her services. - Promptly after retaining, Debra did ...not return emails or calls… or call when she said she was going to call. - Debra has no office support - Debra doesn’t “work” Thursdays or Fridays, or weekends. - Debra has no time for anything, leaving everything to the last minute, then mistakes made and no follow-up. - Debra has a terrible temper and will yell at you. - Debra is very biased and will only fight for what she feels is correct. - Debra ended up acting like she was working for the opposing council. - Debra did not uphold her promises and ultimately was fired.

Debra just helped me and my fiancée finalize our prenuptial agreement and we couldn't be happier. She went above and beyond even helping us out over the weekend when we had more questions during a very time sensitive time period. Would definitely use her again if need be, probably one of the most aff...ordable attorneys in Torrance, CA as well.
