I hired Mrs. Carfrae and I had such a hard time getting a hold of her. Her gatekeepers are the best, they will never pass you through which means less contact to share important helpful info. We had the most interactions during court than outside of court. She’ll meet with you before you hire her so ...you could hear what you want to hear and hire her and after that your best best is when you see her in court. She’s not an approachable lawyer but more a “to the point in court lawyer”. After reading these messages I’m surprise who’s really submitting these great reviews.

Don't trust this lawyer "Minor's Counsel" This lady is a turncoat in our Family court system. I personally witnessed this lawyer completely lie to the Judge on three occasions now. Once I had to subpoena her documents to get my point across. If thats what it takes, I recommend doing it. First, she be...lieves she can interview a child in 15-20 minutes whom she had no prior contact with for more than a year and testify and recommend on that child's best interest in regards to Education, Health, and Welfare. WOW! Only 15-20 mins. WOW! In addition BEWARE she will only interview one parent and give that one parents allegations to the court without interviewing the other parent. Therefore I suggest, be ready to object in court on gender bias and state the exact code. Look it up. Ask the court to strike her statements and/or relieve her. This goes for both mother/and fathers. Remember she is a turncoat. Second, This lady Ms Carfrae, will only do what's best for herself in the eyes of the court. Meaning, no matter what, she will side with the Judge even knowing that his decision is wrong. Third, she believes the rules of court do not apply to her. Hence Rules of Evidence. Do not allow her to present testimony that came from anyone other than herself. Hearsay. Be ready to Object and Object often. BEWARE!!! She does not file any reports when the court so orders her to do so. DEMAND her to file a report and do not allow her to give any testimony until she does file the report. Rules are rules so do not allow her to break them because once she does she will continue to take advantage of her attorney title. STOP HER IMMEDIATELY!! Fourth, She will blame the party for not calling, emailing, or writing to set up an appointment. If your paying her, via monthly payments, contract, and/or PACT where does it say that the client needs to call to make an appointment. Although when you do call, write, and email Ms. Carfrae will say you did not try to contact her. BEWARE!!! This review is for the reader's whom are considering Ms Carfrae for counsel. Just remember one thing. BEWARE!!!

I had a horrible experience with her services. Aside from going through four parallels and none knew what was going on with my case, I’d say she’s your typical lawyer that meets with you 5 min before the court to discuss concerts ... She tends to find the best gate keepes because I was never able to ...speak with her nor did she ever returned any of my calls. There was a huge opportunity for me to get custody of my child because her mother was found guilty of child abuse on her other child and I was not able to reach her during this. She’s very pricy for the service she offers. I guess practicing law for almost 40 years makes you just a collecting machine and not care about your clients. Time to retire. I would never recommend her!!!

Gave her 4k as a retailer we then all of a sudden I receive a bill for 16k more and she charged interest too. Had no clue it was going to be that much and I believe charges are inflated. last calls I remember making were for 5 mins and She charged 50 mins. Gotta go though every charge now and hopeful...ly can be resolved otherwise will have to contact the bar. She runs up bill by only doing partial work at trial or settlement meetings so she can have another reason to bill hours. My ex requested a change of order within a month of orders being ordered and so we went back to court costing thousands but she could of prevented that because a request like that has to be 6 months or more or have cause. I had to travel since I don't live in california and the first thing she tells the judge is changes cannot be requested since less than 6 months, end of case. She should of told his lawyer that before it came to court appearance but they both wanted to bill more hours. Also when original trial was requested and orders were issued she should of requested reimbursent for credit card payments and lawyer fees instead she said next time. forward a few years later we finally agreed to have a settlement and then she tried to stick me with all the credit card bills and lawyer fees even though she knew I wanted reimbursement. I emailed all the statement and she claimed she never got them and said next time. When I received the settleme t papers it stuck me with all the credit card debt, wording was tricky so I emailed her office asking for clarification and since they tried to stick me with all bills we had to do another settlement whick still hasnt resolved the credit card or lawyer issues. I finally decided to represent myself since she wasn't representing my best interest and I had to basically tell her what to do each time, not that it helped much. Another example of how bad she was is that I wanted any free life insurance my ex gets form work to be assigned to our kid, so we all agreed on it and it was written in the paperwork. I noticed she put the current name of the policy he had now. So I asked if he changes insurance companies would it be an issue. She said yes, so I had to ask her y to reword it so that it would be for any life insurance. She did but that's something I shouldn't have had to point out. Many other things I can say but just do yourself a favor and find another lawyer or better yet do it yourself. I will never hire another lawyer again.

My son's biological father, had a criminal record and was abusive towards both myself and my son. He provided nothing for a long period of time and then returned to the picture with nothing but requests. I did all the paperwork, I did all the footwork, I carried out my own investigation and I p...ut in all the time. In return, I got nothing but a bill for almost $5000 plus the $2500 (retainer). I am not an attorney nor would I unfairly write a review. At this point I have nothing to gain or loose. All I wanted was the well-being of my son. Instead my son now gets to hang out in an apartment complex in the hood steps away from sex offenders. Thank you for leaving my son in an unsafe environment and his only provider in a "well of more debts." By the way, she told me to file my own child support and to date, still has not completed by divorce.
