Dorothy Louise Carfrae

I cannot trust the fake reviews that are most likely posted by either Dorothy's competitiors or the opposing parties that she defeated in court. One reviewer said she did not get child support even though she has custody of her children ! Either she is not on this planet or her ex is unemployed, on ...welfare (the other reviewer said so), or she is a high earner. The other reviewer said her/his ex got $10,000 more than he deserves. I guess it's out of property division. The fact is: real properties are appraised, pensions are valued, and personal properties (cars, etc..) go by their fair value (blue book, etc) The Judge divides property, not the lawyers. If the lawyers do, it's with their clients' consent and approval. Get real! I settled my case with Dorothy's representation, and it was more than fair. In the beginning of the case, she got temp orders for support, and it was more than adequate. Don't believe these outrageous, unreal reviews based on no facts and outlandish creativity. Get an education, then hire a lawyer

One reviewer said she did not get support while Dorothy got her full custody. How did that work? I would rather get my children than $$ . Another said vaguely that (s)he told him/her that the case would settle for $100 grand, and then (s)he settled for less. Why did (s)he settle? It's a client's de...cision to settle, not a lawyer's. Yet another said vaguely that the retainer is non-refundable and that should be a clue. Did he read his retainer agreement? Did he sign it? Come on, please be fair. These reviews sound fake because they are not based on very simple legal principles. Dorothy Carfrae represented me and litigated the whole case from start to finish, including all issues of child custody, visitation, support, and division of properties. I was right there all the way, and I am pleased. I am grateful

Was recommended by someone who had heard of her (obviously didn't remember what they heard). Initial consultation was good, after that she was MIA with a new paralegal every time I called to speak with her. Took the case probably thinking it was easy money. She should do the court a service and re...tire as it seems she no longer has an interest in dealing with clients. I would NEVER recommend her.

I was referred to Ms. Carfrae by a friend. Initial consultation was very impressive, was told that I would most likely settle for $100,000. There were no children involved and little assets together, so it was a relative simple divorce, should have taken no longer than 6 months to settle. It ended... up taking almost 2 years and the settlement resulted in 1/3 of what she originally told me that I would be awarded. Calls were not returned, forms/letters were lost, folder was lost, very little contact during this period with Dorthy, most contact was with the paralegal and that was like pulling teeth. Needless to say this was a very emotional period and the lack of professional treatment I received only added to the stress of the whole situation. My obsservation is that she takes on more than she and her staff can handle; therefore you end up with little personal attention. I'm just thankful that there were no children/custody issues involved. My advice is to do your homework when retaining an attorney. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend Ms. Carfrae.
