Jeffrey Fredrich Sklan

I hired Jeffrey for a DV case, which later then turned into a DCFS investigation. My daughter was taken away from me, and visitations were with very limited time and had to be monitored. Jeffrey was very calm and encouraging when I first got to his firm. He even opened up his offices on a weekend t...o accommodate me. Immediately, I developed confidence as we designed a fair plan and thoroughly explained to me how he was going to take care of my case in court. From then on, whenever I had a question or concern he always took my calls/texts and responded quickly no matter what time it was. Long story short, DCFS case was deemed unfounded, then, the DVRO case was dissolved. Visitations with joint legal custody were restored. As you can imagine with the seriousness of the accusations against me, it was a very stressful time. We attended court five (5) times. The judge treated Jeffrey with a lot of respect, which was critical as the false accusations were damaging. When it was done, Jeffrey said, “I told you we’d get you here.” With luck, I will never need a lawyer again. If I ever do though, there is only one person I know I will call.

In the middle of a pandemic I had been thrust into a terrible separation from my child’s father and my small child was caught in the middle of it all. As a black woman I was hesitant because I wasn’t sure that Jeffre...y would have the understanding and empathy I needed as I had never been in this situation before. Due to Covid-19 our case had been postponed several times but Jeffrey weathered all of the delays. He returned my calls and emails, and took me through the process with patience. Most importantly he considered my infant child through it all. As a client I took every precaution and made sure I informed Jeffrey of all of my concerns and although he was very busy at times he listened and made sure that my concerns were considered by the judge. During the hardest experience of my life Jeffrey listened, he used his girth of experience to advise me and he carefully took myself and my child into consideration in the courtroom.

I wanted to start by saying this is not a paid comment/review. I am writing this from the bottom of my heart. I am a single mother to a non verbal autistic 4yr old boy. I have lupus. Bad. My sons father decided to abandon his boy during a global pandemic. No contact. No child support. I was alone a...nd worried sick. No parent should ever have to decide between groceries or diapers. Jeffrey not only made me feel like family, he came through on every single word he said. Jeffrey is detail oriented, quick witted and extremely respectful. He exudes positivity with every passionate word he speaks. If you are looking for sincere dedication and attention to matters that are important and can be life defining, please look no further. His staff is absolutely amazing as well. This man truly went to bat for me in court recently. As soon as we won our battle, instead of taking all the credit, which he should have, he immediately told me how proud he was of me, for standing my ground, He assured of what a great parent I am. He was relentless. He made it clear to the judge that he had cleared his schedule for the day and was willing to spend the time to make sure my son got every single thing he needs and deserves. And because of our big win I now have enough money in child support and back child support for my son and I to move into a home, by the beach, with a yard. Its hard to convey how full my heart is. The weight that has been lifted. I can not articulate just how incredibly happy and blessed I am that I have Jeffrey on my side. With another lawyer who knows what might have happened. But most importantly my son and I made a friend for life along the way.

Jeffrey is awesome!!! I had family court , ex wife has lost custody and I now have phiscal custody. This man has helped me every step of the way. Even canceld his vacation to attend court that should have been extended . Every time I would call for advice on how to proceed legally with any problems I... had, he would respond promptly. I have been in court since 2014 and always gone back to Jeffrey for his service and plan to do so in the future if there ever are any more situations . Thank you!!
