After many, many years of "verbal agreements" with the father and him not complying to them, I needed to take action... well, he made it happen sooner for us since he physically, mentally and emotionally abused my son. I started my own paperwork, I did court 'Self Help Center' various times. And let... me tell you, many employees at the court house gave me different advice which made it more difficult to understand the system. It was an overwhelming experience for me. I was losing all hope, and all this was a very long process. But protecting my son was number 1 priority, and the security and piece of mind for my family. I decided to hire David Lavi it was the best choice and was a better decision since he was referred to me by a friend. There's so many family lawyers out there, I did a lot of re-search and it's not easy to just trust anyone. When he called, he listen to all I had to say, even when I was tearing up he said to me "it's ok take a deep breath, I am listening, take your time" (I am always an emotional nutshell). And after speaking with him on the phone we set up a time to meet personally. My work schedule varies, but he was nice enough to wait after closing hours to meet with me and listen to more detail of my story. He gave me his full attention through all my conversation and I would see him write small notes on his legal pad, in the end when I finally vented, he asked questions (from his notes) which was important to me, because it showed interest. Our meeting went very well, he said he would take my case and would be happy to help!! And so he did, met with him personally 3 times and this is including our court date. Life can be very busy, so being able to communicate with him by email and phone was GREAT! He made my life! He was prompt, and when I would lose patience and get anxious he would always calm me down. I feel as if I was a difficult client at times and he was very neutral to the situation and would update me with the case and reminded me these things take time and would say "RELAX it is going to be OK" After many months of him working his magic, we had a court date whooo hoooo!!!! I was ready and full of excitement, finally the day had come on Dec. 19th... I was nervous, but having him with me brought comfort to me, brought me peace. and I am not going to lie I felt powerful having someone with so much knowledge and charisma to represent my son. Court didn't take hours (compare to when I was on my own, I would spend full days at times). It went by so quickly I didn't even know when it was over. David and the Judge exchange some words and that was that... David waited for some papers and I will NEVER forget this - we walked outside the courtroom, he extended his hand with docs and said to me "Merry Christmas" I cried! David gave my son and I the MOST BEAUTIFUL most rewarding gift of all, PEACE. I felt like I had finally accomplished something for my son, to protect him and him to feel safe. David also said if I ever needed any help with anything, not to hesitate! You cannot go wrong on hiring him, he will be the best choice you can ever make for you and your family I promise you! David Lavi has represented me and advised me on multiple matters in the past two years and thus far has proven to be brilliant on each case! As any court process is lengthy in process I have to say David was there for me when I needed him. Every time I became anxious or nervous he reassured me everything was moving along accordingly and always had kind words for me and my daughter.
