I primarily represent women arrested for prostitution. I also represent some men who are caught in sting operations. I have an excellent record of avoiding jail time for my clients. Prostitution among consenting adults should not be a punished crime. However, since it is, the people charged with actions that hurt no one else need a powerful defense.

I am considered an expert in the religion clauses of the Constitution. I have filed amicus briefs with both the United States and California Supreme Courts arguing the true meaning of "separation of church and state," that is, government neutrality in matters of religion. I have demonstrated that the Founders intended a nation in which believers and non believers are equal before the law. I also chair the national legal committee of Americans United for Separation of Church and State
