Brett Berman has a bad reputation and I wish I would’ve done my research. I trusted Brett Berman to help me through my divorce starting in 2024. After I got a domestic violence restraining order against my ex-husband (before hiring Brett Berman), I was unable to go back into my home. I spent months i...n a one bedroom apartment with two kids and two dogs without any access to my finances. Struggling the entire time, I had no idea that all I needed to do was file an ex part to change my situation. Did Brett do that? NO, he used my desperation as leverage. Brett Berman never informed me of this and instead dragged the DV hearing out 8 months. The entire time he focused on getting himself paid from my ex-husband, instead of working on the DV trial. I can’t stress this enough when I say, DO NOT HIRE HIM!!! He didn’t prepare me for court, he did not show a single piece of evidence, police videos, photos, recordings or any witness… Nothing! He was beyond negligent. He is a terrible lawyer, has zero energy to fight and his carelessness made me lose everything. I am still trying to fight my way back to where I was before Brett Berman. Divorce is hard, but with Brett Berman you could lose everything you have.

I hired Brett to handle my post judgment modification of spousal support and child support. Brett and his team conducted the appropriate amount of discovery to get the financial information necessary for the court to modify the amount of monthly support I was receiving. This included taking the depo...sition of my ex husband and his expert witness. I found Brett and his team to be responsive, and able to work well with opposing counsel. We almost reached a settlement on the day of our court hearing. However, in the end, it was necessary for us to have an evidentiary hearing. Brett and his associate conducted the direct and cross exam of two expert witnesses and the parties. Everything was handled swiftly and expeditiously. In the end, I was very satisfied with my result. I highly recommend Brett!
