I live out of state, and was looking for a lawyer to help resolve a legal problem dating back several years. As the result of my previous attorney's incompetence, (bad communication, bad advice, not filing / misfiling paperwork, etc) I had a bench warrant and was facing the probability re-doing hundreds of hours of community service.... and even jail time.
Anyway, I wanted to get it behind me and was prepared to do what was necessary to move on with my life. I was not optimistic, considering my past experience. In a 10 minute phone consultation, Ms Chambers looked up my case and last lawyer, zeroed in on the heart of the issue, suggested a game plan, and prepared me for the possible outcomes. She was all business and as professional as they come. I hired her.
Long story short: In about two weeks, Ms Chambers appeared in court on my behalf, and FIXED EVERYTHING. Literally the best possible results. Years of aggravation and the weight on my heart... suddenly lifted.
Now for the downside:
* If you want a lawyer who will hold your hand and sing you lullabies, look elsewhere, because she's not going to do that.
Some other things she wont do- she wont ignore your calls, and she won't draw things out to bleed you with billable hours.
She WILL do her job, and she'll do it damn well.
(And Meryl, if you read this, thanks again)
