Isai Bismark Cortez

I was very lucky to find Isai of Bismark Tax 3 years ago after I was audited by the IRS. I called and spoke to him over the phone (he came highly recommended by a friend of mine). He answered all my questions and addressed as many concerns as he could over the phone. He was very clear and took his ti...me explaining options relating to my situation. We made an appointment and the rest is history. We've been going to him ever since for all our tax needs. Isai is amazing. He is honest, kind, very thorough and professional. He is super available; he answers his phone a lot and returns calls and emails fast. He will give you an honest assessment about if he can help you. He refused to take money from us because we weren't good candidates for a settlemen...t. He steered us in a different direction and gave us referrals to honest, quality accountants. Before we called Isai, we almost went with a lawyer who asked for money and power of attorney before she even knew the details of our case. I reached out to Isai Cortez back in 2013 after I had been fed up with receiving notices from the IRS that they were trying to collect on my past due debt. They placed a lien on my credit report and as you can imagine a lien from the federal government doesn’t make you an ideal candidate for any kind... of credit. I’ve seen many commercial for “Tax Attorney’s” who can help settle debt for pennies on the dollar. But let’s be honest, most of the time they sound like infomercials prying on late night television viewers. At first I was very weary of trying to settle and had no idea what the “offer in compromise” program consisted of, but Mr. Cortez explained it to me and after being out of options decided I would give it a try. The process itself was VERY slow and at times I became doubtful that we would ever reach an offer with the IRS. Mr. Cortez along with Jason Peart and the rest of his team had warned me of this, but I never expected it to be so long. The IRS likes to set strict deadlines for documentation they require and at times it was stressful but again Isai and Jason, worked with me around the clock and held my hand throughout the entire process. Truthfully, I did not think the IRS would even want to settle on my $120,727, but they did and they did for $500, yes you read that right five hundred. I am extremely grateful for the hard work, honesty and dedication of Bismark Tax and I would recommend anyone I know to give them a try.

Trust me don’t use anyone else but Bismark Tax. I used my tax preparer for two separate IRS audit years because his service included free audit representation. Big mistake, especially seeing my preparer was an Enrolled Agent not a CPA or Attorney like Isai at Bismark. My preparer gave me horrible ...advice which lead the IRS to drag in a third year to audit which was not smart at all. I of course fired my preparer and hired Bismark Tax immediately. This was the best decision so far. Isai was able to do his magic as a tax attorney and turn my horrible situation into a great outcome. A little background on Isai. His rates are very reasonable. He is very detail oriented and picks up his phone every time I call; unlike my preparer. I can tell that Isai really cares about you and is always looking out for your best interest. He is definitely not like your usual attorney who is all about the $$. I will be recommending Isai to all my friends and family. Don’t make my same mistake. Hire Isai as soon as you receive that dreaded IRS letter in the mail.

I can't say enough good things about Bismark Tax. After not filing taxes for 20 years a judgment for approximately 80 thousand plus dollars was filed by the IRS. I was sent probably 200 letters by attorneys trying to get my business, which made me skeptical of all of them. When the IRS began takin...g my entire paycheck, I was left with no option but dealing with my tax issues I discovered Bismark tax and Isai via the Internet and reviews on yelp and elsewhere. I was very skeptical of him as I have never had a good experience with lawyers but I was more terrified at the prospect of dealing with the IRS myself, so I met with Isai and I liked him, although I was still apprehensive and my friends were advising me not to get an attorney. I myself was thinking that paying him to file my taxes might be a waste of money and that I should file them myself, but considering he filed 10 years worth I consider the money well spent. In the end he was cheaper than if I had used an accountant. When I decided to hire Isai I had just had eye surgery and was unable to drive he came to my house to pick up my payment and paperwork which was above and beyond my expectations. He has also, always been available to talk with me on the phone and to meet with him at his office. He has also been very honest and straightforward about what he could and couldnt do to help me, unlike the offers I had received in the mail which promised the world. He did not give me all the deductions I wanted or thought I deserved but I either did not have adequate paperwork to back them up or he felt they would not pass an audit. So far I have only paid him to file my taxes and I'm now at the stage where I need to pay him to negotiate with the IRS. As I had pretty much given him all the money I had, and the IRS was taking my entire paycheck he managed to get my tax liens removed temporarily so I can at least make some money to live on and of course pay him. He even spent three hours on the phone with the IRS on tax day April 15 in order to get the IRS to fax the suspension of the lien to my employer before my check was taken which will allow me to pay my rent and bills this month. I will let you know how things turn out over the next year but if you are considering hiring Bismark tax and dealing with your tax problems I highly recommend this firm.
