I could not be happier with the results my attorney, Mark Schlein, and Baum Hedlund Aristei & Goldman obtained for me in my whistleblower case.
Mark knows the system well enough that we was able to move between the different government agencies and contact the right people to succeed in getting the government to get involved in my case.
He fought for me not only in explaining all the technical details of my case, but he also fought for me to get more of my share when the government was trying to cut it back.
Mark is a very personable. His communication skills are awesome. He listens to everything you have to say and acts on it appropriately. He communicated to me everything that was going on in my case, practically in real time. He always let me know where things stood and with whom.
Gary, Mark’s legal secretary, did an outstanding job of correctly putting the paperwork together and he prepped it all in timely matter. All the staff that I dealt with at Baum Hedlund were great. They were very nice and very supportive.
If you are considering blowing the whistle, you need to get the best attorney possible. Mark Schlein will do everything for you possible and be very straight up with you about your case and where you stand. If he says you have a good case, it’s probably a great case. If he says you have a good case, if he wants to take it, I’d let him. He’s as close to a guarantee as you can get.
Mark never stepped out of the system but he was able to make the system work for us.
Tell Mark everything that is going on and let him file the case and he will take care of you.
I couldn’t be happier with the results in my case.

I was terminated from a former employer for voicing concerns regarding medicare fraud by a hospice agency. I had verbalized these concerns in meetings, with supervisors and co-workers for several years and was eventually fired. After being terminated I contacted the Department of Health and Human Services and was advised to write a letter with specific information, which I did. I was eventually contacted and spoke with the FBI regarding the fraud.
After meeting with the FBI in person and seeing some articles regarding the hospice agency in the newspaper I decided I should contact a False Claims Act Attorney. I found Mark's number on the internet and was a little apprehensive about hiring an attorney this way, but had no other references. Mark's office staff listened to my information and I received a phone call directly from Mark less than 15 minutes later.
Since the Federal Government had been working on this case for over a year before I contacted Mark, the hospice agency was already in the process of filing for bankruptcy as they knew they were going to owe the government so much money. Time was of the essence, in fact, Mark wasn't even certain we would be able to file a False Claims Action at that point. Mark worked diligently on this case and was able to have an incredibly written suit filed in time for me to be eligible for the award.
Over the past two years Mark has always been available by cell phone. He has been conscientious about keeping me informed of any developments in the case and has helped me keep a sense of humor when things have been difficult! I feel that he has been my advocate and has been supportive and understanding about how difficult this has been for me both personally and professionally.
Mark was honest about his fees and has kept me informed all along the way. I will definitely refer Mark in the future if I have the opportunity to do so.
