Biography
Derek Pakiz is the lead trial attorney and litigation supervisor at The Reeves Law Group. Mr. Pakiz devotes his practice to catastrophic injury matters and has experience with cases involving amputation, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and wrongful death. He also specializes in motor vehicle accidents such as car accidents, motorcycle accidents, and truck accidents.
Mr. Pakiz has been a licensed attorney for more than 30 years and has practiced personal injury law throughout that time and serves clients throughout the state of California. Over the course of his career, he has been involved in many significant cases, resulting in seven and eight figure settlements and verdicts.
Recognized for his accomplishments, Mr. Pakiz was named a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by The National Trial Lawyers and was named one of the 10 best personal injury attorneys in the country by Newsweek in 2014. He is one of only a select few attorneys to receive a Diplomate distinction from the American Association for Justice.
Active in various professional organizations, Mr. Pakiz is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles. He also belongs to the Melvin M. Belli Society, an invitation-only organization of trial attorneys who are committed to furthering legal education on an international level.
Mr. Pakiz received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and attained his law degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. He is certified in civil trial advocacy by the National Board of Legal Specialty Certification.
