1% Communication/ Lazy Overpromised in Writing and Underdelivered.

This review is a prerequisite to a Formal complaint filed to the Nevada Bar. 0 Stars if possible. Overpromised per our official agreement and paid in full then became just shy of unreachable. Had to be chased down repeatedly to complete the Summons then sat on it not filing. Then promised to a...ssist with an online digital police report filing and made excuses why he never completed. Once the defendant was finally served with no help from his office he refused to communicate with the defendant whom co tasted him only once and he refused to maintain persistence to discuss settlement with the defendant. He missed meeting arranged by him forgetting to call and cancel once me and the other plaintiff arrived at the office. He sat on filings for months June to sept then sept til Dec 31 when he was emailed and threatened with a complaint to the Nevada Bar. He then filed for Judgement hours later then again no contact and I had to find out our court date by going on the court website. Then once in court he disappeared Feb4 til near April sitting on amendments the court ordered him to modifyin the Judgement. When attempting to ask if this had been completed ALL correspondence was ignored. A mutual acquaintance contacted him and he stated “ I will finish it for you”. (Assuming he had no intension of completing the modifications the court asked for after all he had already been paid). Me and the other plaintiff had to go to the courthouse clerk of courts to see if the documents had been submitted and the court had said they still had not received them. Once finally completed with phase on of the case management, nearly 13 months had gone by and now he has had zero contact not returning any correspondence and refusing to complete the remaining steps he was hired to do. This could have been completed within 4 or 5 months but his lazy complacent attitude drug this out nearly 13 months making the plaintiffs rely on info researched by a paralegal ( family member) and is taking the time to go to the courthouse to verify things. He refuses to even attempt to negotiate with the defendant allowing the defendant to disappear and he refuses to assist with any additional filings or subpoenas for the defendants financial disclosure. He has kept our money and cut all contact. Steer clear. He claims he has a law firm but it’s his wife and he rents an office cubical at a business park. Lastly, most complaints are nearly identical citing poor communication and refusing to perform work as agreed to in the original agreement. 2 other people will be filing complaints alongside of mine to the NV BAR. Overpromised and undelivered. PLEASE stay away and research a different attorney. He did very very little with super poor communication. This attorney has been under investigation by the NV Bar before semi recently and will be again. I don’t know how you would thing you could put the work you agreed to perform and then accept money and not perform any of it except 1 line item and even at that drag your feet and have little communication. Should have his attorney license revoked. This will be the first of many negative review websites for starters. Dissatisfied former client whom had to do a lot because the attorney performed very little. Miserable experience. Only performed when he was threatened with NV Bar. Now he has disappeared with Incomplete case management with 2/3rds of the work never even started.

Dead beat Attorney

If you want an attorney that drags out the divorce process then Evan is your guy! Divorce hearing was in October of 2023 and final divorce decree has yet to be filed with the court, despite a motion that was filed in court in January of 2024. The judge ordered it be filed by week ending January 12t...h and here we wait……….again! Zero stars!!

Family Issue

Evan helped me with a family issue that occurred after my marriage. His calm even-keeled approach was second to none. I felt like he was my advocate and allowed me to have a voice. If you are having a family issue you are cheating yourself by not utilizing his services so you can have a voice.... Thank you you Evan you changed my life.

Unprofessional

I had a bad experienced with Attroney Evan last year. I was really upset at how unprofessional he showed up to court. Messy looking, hair. His little girl was on the background of his video. Unprofessional. By the way, I prepared and filed my own paperwork to court. I served Defendant. I hired t...he professional and knowledgeable to help me out the day in court. Did not follow up. Bad communicator. The day at court was a nightmare. He did not seem to be on my side. I had to speak out for myself. I was really disappointed for hiring and paying Attroney Evan.

We certainly appreciate legitimate feedback and welcome conversation about how the Firm can improve service to all clients. We are somewhat concerned this review is not a review from an actual client. The Firm typically doesn't do appearance work where the Party filed their own paperwork, motions etc. The reviewer doesn't leave a name. Likewise, the reviewer appears to indicate that the hearing was done via video. Most Family Court hearings are conducted via video right now. If you saw my daughter, you would have seen my son as well as they are joined at the hip. Likewise, the video quality of Blue Jeans wouldn't really let one see if the hair is not quite GQ as it is not the greatest. Our Firm is always on the client's side and takes the duty of zealous advocacy seriously. This duty is balanced by the need to give client's honest and objective advice and not advance positions in Court that aren't supported by law or are unethical. Taking such positions would not serve the client's overall interest. These reasons and a number of others indicate that the review perhaps is not a review from an actual client. If the reviewer is an actual client, we would welcome a phone conversation with them to discuss any concerns they may have. We always aim to improve our client service and business practices and value legitimate feedback.

"It is with great pleasure and confidence that I offer my endorsement for Evan Schwab as a family law attorney in Las Vegas. Evan is an upstanding member of the Las Vegas legal community who brings together compassion for his clients and a knowledge of how to navigate the confusing waters of family law. I know I can rely on Evan to give me a fair and honest answer whenever one of my clients has an issue with family law. Considering the wealth of options many clients have for credible family law attorneys, few could do better than having Evan as counsel in what is often an emotionally (and legally) difficult time."

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2020.

Reprimanded issued in NV, 2020

updated on 10/13/2023

This means the attorney did something wrong, but the Bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
