Alicia S. May grew up in Bozeman, Montana and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2012 to pursue her legal career. Alicia graduated with honors from Montana State University in 2012 with a degree sociology and minors in gender studies and English literature. While in college, Alicia worked for KGLT, an independent not-for-profit radio station, as an administrative assistant and occasional DJ, and wrote a column for her college newspaper.
After moving to Nevada, Alicia worked as a paralegal while attending law school in the evening at the William S. Boyd School of Law. She graduated with her J.D. in 2016 and became a member of the State Bar of Nevada the same year. Since passing the bar, Alicia has practiced primarily family law - including divorce, child custody, child support, and guardianship matters - and also has experience with general civil litigation and criminal defense. Additionally, Alicia has extensive experience working on appeals and has prepared numerous appellate briefs.
Alicia is an active member of the Clark County Bar Association ("CCBA") and currently serves as a chair of the Community Service Committee, helping to serve the community along with other Clark County attorneys and local merchants. This service led to Alicia receiving Committee Circle of Support Awards from the CCBA in 2018 and 2019. Alicia has also served on the State Bar of Nevada's Advertising Advisory Committee since 2018.
Alicia had an article regarding economic abuse in divorce litigation published in the State Bar of Nevada's "Nevada Lawyer" publication in November 2019. She gave a presentation on qualified domestic relations orders in March 2019 as part of the Downtown Cultural Series, and also gave a presentation about the Nevada attorney advertising rules to other attorneys in August 2021.
