I had a very special situation of Domestic violence and neither I had any legal status to stay in the US nor I could able to return my back home due to my caste. The situation where I was comepletely helpless and cannot support my self at all. At that time I met Eva Eitzen through New Mexico immigrant law center Albuquerque. My journey started from there with Eva. She applied a work permit then U visa for me and also helped me in the F1 student visa as well. Meanwhile my situation is getting worse and worse and I used to receive life threats from back home and I couldn’t able to go home at all so Eva applied the asylum for me.
Since I didn’t have any money to pay, my survival was very difficult EVA took my case to Rebecca Kitson Law with her at free of charge. Asylum at Huston office is very difficult to win and according to the survey the denial rate is 99.9%. So that means only 0.1 cases are able to win at the aylum office.
With Eva’s tremendous support, her professionalism, perfectionist and quality work we won the asylum case.
That’s the biggest happiness in my life. She gave me my life back where can I work, apply for work and do many many things. I have no words to explain my feelings towards her. She helped me continuously two years of applying visa to make my self independent.
Beside an attorney she is such a great person with kind and beautiful heart. She is a hero in my life.
A big thank you to Eva Eitzen, she is a miracle.
Eva is a force in this community. She worked for years in the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center and provided pro bono help, support, and reconciliation to underrepresented minorities. She was the third lawyer who worked on my case, and the one who got it approved. The support and dedication she gives to her clients are unparalleled.
Eva is professional, yet gracious; well spoken, yet down to Earth. She was my ray of light when the future seemed cloudy and uncertain. She used intuition, diligence, and focus in bring the facts in my case to light, putting all the pieces together, and bringing a happy ending to situation.
There aren’t enough stars to do Eva justice. She helped me carry the weight of fear and uncertainty and then lifted the burden off my chest. I will forever be grateful for her help.
Since 2005, I have exclusively practiced immigration law. I have spent most of my career serving the community at non-profit organizations, including as the Legal Director at New Mexico Immigrant Law Center. Before founding Eitzen Immigration Law, I represented diverse clients at one of the leading immigration law firms in New Mexico. I have extensive experience before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the immigration courts, and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
