Rhys Scott Campbell

Few attorneys have had the opportunity to approach legal problems from as many perspectives as Rhys S. Campbell.

Rhys is an Arizona attorney with approximately eight years of legal experience representing individuals, families, governmental entities, and tribal interests throughout Arizona and beyond. His practice is built on substantial courtroom experience and a career that has allowed him to see legal problems from multiple sides,  as a public defender, prosecutor, private-practice attorney, and advocate in complex juvenile and tribal matters.

Rhys began his career developing extensive experience in criminal defense, representing clients facing charges ranging from misdemeanors and DUI offenses to serious felony matters. His years working in public defense gave him firsthand experience managing a demanding criminal caseload, evaluating evidence, negotiating with prosecutors, preparing cases for trial, and advocating for clients whose freedom, families, and futures were at stake.

He later served as a prosecutor, giving him the opportunity to evaluate criminal cases from the other side of the courtroom. That combination of defense and prosecution experience provides Rhys with valuable insight into how criminal cases are investigated, charged, negotiated, and litigated. Today, he brings that perspective to his criminal defense clients at Campbell Law.

Rhys also has significant experience in family law, representing clients in divorce, legal decision-making and parenting-time disputes, child support matters, modifications, and other domestic-relations cases. He understands that family-law matters are rarely limited to what happens in the courtroom. Decisions made during these cases can affect a client's children, finances, home, and everyday life for years to come.

For approximately four years, Rhys also handled juvenile and dependency matters, including cases involving the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA). His work included representing the Hopi Tribe in matters across the United States, giving him experience with the unique intersection of Arizona law, federal law, tribal sovereignty, child welfare, and family relationships. This background continues to inform his representation in dependency and juvenile matters today.

In addition, Rhys has experience with civil and personal-injury matters, including motor-vehicle collisions, premises liability and slip-and-fall claims, dog and animal bites, and wrongful-death cases.

After years of practicing in public service and private firms, Rhys founded Campbell Law in Flagstaff to provide clients with experienced, accessible, and personal representation. He believes clients should understand what is happening in their case, why it matters, and what their realistic options are. He takes the time to listen, communicate directly with his clients, and develop a strategy based on the individual circumstances of each case.

Rhys is based in Flagstaff and represents clients throughout Northern Arizona, including Coconino, Yavapai, and Mohave Counties. He regularly serves clients in Flagstaff, Williams, Page, Prescott, Prescott Valley, Cottonwood, Sedona, Kingman, Bullhead City, Lake Havasu City, and surrounding communities. His primary practice areas include criminal defense, family law, and juvenile and dependency matters.
