Dina Afek

I worked with Dina recently to apply for severance of my children's biological father's rights. He had not seen or contacted them for several years by his choice, but decided to fight it when my husband wanted to adopt the children. Dina was very knowledgeable and remained calm through the whole pr...ocess. She knew what to file and when and the severance was granted. The only improvement I would have requested is that she explain things to me a little more. This was an emotional process for me and I have a tendency to need to understand how things work. I feel I am able to work better with people when I understand the "why" behind it all. Dina is the type of person who knows her job and gets it done without a lot of fanfare. One thing I really appreciated is that she kept costs reasonable for us by suggesting that we go through the adoption process ourselves (unrepresented by an attorney) after the severance was granted. That part really did not need an attorney and I appreciate her saving us money that way.
