"Sorry" Describes My Experience

"Sorry"...pretty much describes my experience with this attorney and hopefully this review will help you to steer clear so as to not have the same Sorry/Disappointing experience. I was experiencing targeted harassment and crimes AS harassment at the hands of a group of people living in the same ne...ighborhood. (Translation-GANG with crime, drugs, and violence.) The landlord said, "Call the Police. Don't bother me about it." Calling the PCSD (not the police...) resulted in the Deputies showing up repeatedly but being disinterested in the situation. They didn't do what they should like cite or arrest the offenders. Instead the deputies considered it beneath them and referred me to have the landlord handle the matter(s). In a true vicious circle, the landlord did NOT deal with the problem(s) and continued to instruct me to call Law enforcement who would respond, do nothing, and claim the landlord should deal with the matter(s). This lead to a situation where the gang members recognized neither the Sheriff nor the landlord would do anything and so they ramped up the harassment/crimes without any fear of consequences. The gang leader showed up at my home and without any hesitation due to the fact he was being recorded said, "If this were Mexico you'd be dead already." (No action taken when I reported this to PCSD with the evidence...) In October of 2022 I contacted Mr. Davenport who would not provide a "free" consultation so I paid $120 for an hour of his time. In that hour I presented the situation (past and present). Mr Davenport and I came up with a response plan for what to do the next time this "re-occurring" pattern presented itself. In this plan he was to do what only an "officer-of-the-court" could do as a remedy for what both the landlord and the PCSD were doing- passing the buck or refusing to accept their responsibilities. I also paid Mr. Davenport a $2000.00 retainer ahead of time which he held in trust. Months later (March 2023) over the weekend there were multiple incidents of harassment and trespass made by gang members. On Monday I called Mr. Davenport but could only leave a message. (He provided no Email address to me.) On Wednesday there were more incidents of harassment/trespass. I called again and got his receptionist. "He's busy doing a lot of hearings." On Friday there were again, more incidents of harassment/trespass and escalation by the gang members. (Due to the lack of a proper response in a timely manner to the earlier incidents...). On Friday I composed and sent a termination letter to MR. Davenport via Certified mail. From That Letter: "I am writing to officially notify you that I am terminating your services immediately. This is because I retained your service ahead of time in the event there was another "event/incident" with my landlord or my neighbor(s), we could respond to the event/incident properly and in a timely manner. There was an incident(s), I did make repeated attempts over a number of days to contact you by phone, and you did not respond. This indicates to me that for whatever reason, you and your legal services are simply not available to me when I need them. This is in direct conflict with the very reason I met with you, paid for an hour of your time, and paid the retainer of $2000.00." Mr. Davenport did respond by mail with a "Sorry" for not responding to my needs along with a $2000.00 check for the retainer I paid. Sadly, I paid him $120.00 for an hour of his time in which he and I came up with a response plan he never followed through with. I'm "Sorry" I placed my confidence in and hired Mr. Davenport.
