I am a born and bred Arizona native. My passion is achieving positive outcomes for families and individuals in domestic relations and juvenile matters. I joined the McCarthy Law Firm in 2020 and regularly handle all aspects of divorce, paternity, including special expertise in child support matters. I also handle juvenile court matters, including private termination of parental rights, third-party and grandparents’ rights actions.
I got my start in family law started as a student attorney with the Child and Family Law Clinic at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law. After licensure, I represented children in child dependency, permanent guardianship, and adoption cases, then served as an Assistant Attorney General (AAG) of Arizona litigating a high volume of juvenile and domestic relations matters. I also worked in the Child Support Services Section where I represented Arizona in paternity, and child support actions, including interstate matters.
I am especially skilled in cases involving trauma, interfamily conflict, and disruption of the parent-child relationship. I balance creative problem solving with compassion and diligence. I partner with her clients throughout the legal process, and strive to make them feel heard and respected during some of the most challenging times in their lives. I believe in the mediation and settlement process to resolve matters if at all possible, but my trial experience makes me an excellent advocate in the courtroom as well.
As a mom of 3 active kiddos, I am sensitive to the needs of children and challenges of parenthood, which is particularly helpful when walking through legal decision-making and parenting time matters with my clients. I also understand the importance of financial peace of mind, and therefore take special care to ensure my clients obtain the best financial outcomes possible on issues of support, spousal maintenance, and division of assets.
Outside of the office, I most enjoy spending time with my family. When not chasing my children around the park or taking a morning walk through the neighborhood, I love to sing, play piano, craft, and crank out miles on my road bike in Tucson’s vibrant cycling community.
