This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority.
An admonishment means the attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. While on probation, the State monitors the attorney's activities for a period of time in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Jeffrey represented my son in an extreme-speeding vehicle matter. He did his research, went to bat for us, both in court and in side discussions with the prosecutor, and we came away with a court resolution that was easy to swallow. We would have been at the mercy of the prosecution without Jeffrey by our side. He was very direct with my son and I believe it sunk in, he hasn't had a driving violation since!

I retained Mr. Blackman several times when my son was young, and decided to make several stupid "decisions". Mr Blackman was very aggressive in my son's defense showing that the case(s) were overblown by the Tucson Police Department and that the so called "facts" that they produced were, at best, inaccurate and/or false. Mr Blackman is very involved in your case. You will receive calls, letters, emails ALL the time. You never have to guess where your case is at. I have read several other reviews posted and find them to be inaccurate with the attorney that I know. Mr. Blackman takes his (your) case very serious and if you don't follow his direction, he will let you know you are screwing up. I can see that (as my son didn't always follow through in a timely manner) some might take Mr. Blackman's counsel negatively, but he is trying to get you, the client, to do the best thing for your case. My son received a stern "do this, don't do that" talking to more than once.
If you need a criminal defense attorney, Mr. Blackman is your attorney. Mr. Blackman also represented my friend (from my referral) during his divorce and was very happy with the results. I think other reviews are just blaming Mr. Blackman for their mistakes or failure to follow through. At least that is my belief due to my involvement with Mr. Blackman.

I was referred to Mr Blackman to support me with a school issue my daughter was having. From the first time I spoke with him, he was rude on the phone and it seemed apparent that he really just didn't want to support the case. My wife was listening on speaker phone and when we hung up she was also surprised at Mr Blackman's demeanor. When Mr Blackman called back, I told him that I would prefer not to engage him as my wife and I did not like his demeanor. Mr Blackman then called me back several times demanding to be paid for his services. At that point I told Mr Blackman that we had not executed an agreement and I am not interested in working with him and was not paying him for his time and hung up. Mr Blackman then called me several times on my cell phone, which I pushed to voicemail using several expletives and inviting me to his office to meet face-to-face, which sounded somewhat like a threat to me.Stay away. High nut factor here.
