I have been an outstanding trial lawyer in two States, New York (Manhattan) and Arizona (Tucson) since 1988. For my entire career, I have only represented injured victims (Plaintiffs / Claimants) in personal injury (auto collision cases), medical negligence (suits against doctors and hospitals), products liability (defective products), premises liability (dog bites and dangerous conditions), and insurance bad faith cases.
Through 2017, I have never created a website because 100 percent of my cases are referred to me by the hundreds of clients I have successfully represented over the last 29 years. Clients are referred to me by many different kinds of lawyers from all over the United States. Clients are referred to me from dozens of varied professionals in the Tucson business community who know of my outstanding reputation for achieving the best outcomes for my clients.
I have been on the Board of Governors of the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association () from 2000 - 2017, and a sustaining member of the American Association for Justice () since 1997. I have devoted my entire 29-year professional career to becoming the best trial lawyer I can be. This includes trying more civil cases to jury verdict than 95 percent of my colleagues and attending and teaching trial tactics seminars all over the United States.
In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of many charitable organizations in Tucson over the last 23 years, I have been married to Nanci since 1996 and have two magnificent daughters in Rae and Maya. Rae is now a sophomore at the University of Michigan (GO BLUE). Maya is an 11th grader. Both daughters attended and will graduate from Tucson's best high school, University High School. Nanci is employed by Handmaker (Jewish Elder Care) and performs a wide range of volunteer work in Tucson.
The AVVO website at the top of the GOOGLE page contains information about me being suspended from the practice of law for 30 days back in 2007. That suspension had nothing to do with "unethical" nor illegal conduct as a lawyer, nor as a person. That suspension had to do with being wrongfully accused of engaging in litigation with an "offensive personality." I steadfastly denied those allegations and no one ever appeared at the State Bar Hearing to testify against me. The Judge who was involved in those unfortunate allegations (Carmine Cornelio of Tucson) has been reported to Arizona's State Judicial Commission for exceptionally offensive conduct of his own by several members of the Tucson community since 2007. That is a matter of public record. Judge Cornelio was such a horrible Judge that Arizona's Judicial Performance Review (JPR) recommended by an overwhelming majority that Judge Cornelio NOT be retained in 2016. Fortunately, this caused Judge Cornelio to retire well before his retirement age. My suspension in 2007 was because of unfortunate conduct by an unfortunate Judge (Carmine Cornelio). I made a decision to stand up to this Judge, which paved the way for others to do so. As a result of my sacrifice in this regard, this Judge (Carmine Cornelio) is gone. Please reference ?option=com_content&view=article&id=1531:is-judge-carmine-cornelio-of-tucson-a-screwball-and-an-ethical-dwarf&cadid=34:judicial-misfits&Itemid=55 [NOTE: I had nothing to do with this and never posted about Judge Cornelio until 2015 (first AVVO posting). Simply google: "Carmine Cornelio"]. Also, just find the Arizona Judicial Performance Review (JPR) for 2016. It is spelled out beautifully.
My reputation within Tucson's legal community is stellar. It is stellar because of the undeniable professional results I have achieved in Tucson since 1995 and because of how I have conducted myself within the legal and general communities for the last 23 years. My "rating" from AVVO should easily be a 10, but because the AVVO rating system is so terribly flawed, it is what it is. I have the HIGHEST rating that a lawyer can have WITHOUT paying money to AVVO.
More information about my political positions can be found at . I have also carried a BV rating with Martindale-Hubbell for the last 15 years, which is very impressive. That rating should be an AV, but I do not advertise with (pay money to) Martindale-Hubbell and I have this nonsense 2007 suspension on what should be a perfectly unblemished legal career. I will certainly never advertise with AVVO either because I do not need to.

"Talented, Aggressive, Knowledgeable Litigation Attorney 5.0 stars Posted by DAVID I practiced business law in Silicon Valley for forty years. On many occasions I had to select litigation attorneys to prosecute or defend actions for my business clients. I know the tells of good attorneys and bad ones. I can recognize the ones who know their stuff and the ones who don’t. I met Doug Levy in 2005 when a wealthy Arizona friend needed a litigation attorney, and I went with my friend when he met with Doug whom he eventually hired. In that case Doug rejected the insurance company’s offers and took the matter to binding arbitration where Doug secured an award of $190,000, far higher than any of the insurance company’s settlement offers. Over the ensuing years on many occasions I’ve spent many hours with Doug, and I know his personality, his intelligence, his ethics and his character. If I had to pick the top five litigators I’ve met over my forty years of practice, Doug Levy"
"Candid, smart, hard-working & experienced, Doug Levy is our "go to guy" for Arizona legal matters. Having known him for over a decade, he is always forthright in his answers & able to put us in the right direction. I have also visited his office & he could also be the mayor, he is so popular. He does not waste our time with B.S. and, as a second generation personal injury lawyer, he really understands the important issues deeply. Unlike most "wannabe p.i. lawyers," Doug also puts his money where his mouth is, passionately supporting those groups that help injured victims & disabled workers before the state legislators & on Capitol Hill."
"For almost 3 years I worked with Doug on a personal injury matter that was venued in Tucson. To say that Doug knows the law and that he is smart, organized, thorough, informative and diligent are understatements. He is all that and more. I have enjoyed working with him and will not hesitate to refer clients to him in the future."
"I endorse this lawyer. Doug has extensive knowledge in the field of personal injury. He has a wealth of knowledge in the field of dog bites and accidents where the defendant is also guilty of DUI. Doug also mentors new attorneys to help them develop their skills. For these reasons I highly recommend Doug Levy as a personal injury attorney."
