Don’t be an idiot, call Doug!

Submitted for your entertainment and education at my expense: I was driving home from work as a volunteer (yes I’m retired) when I was T-boned by a lady who admitted that she was playing with her new cell phone. Both cars were totaled and I had the added bonus of having 2 broken ribs and a leg hema...toma. But don’t worry, the driver of the other car walked away without a scratch. Since this is the first accident I have been in with injuries, I figured I could just handle it myself. After all, the “good hands” people gave me a more than fair price for my totaled car in less than one week after the collision. And I remembered eating dinner with my son’s watching something on TV when I said to them “it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out”. My oldest son pointed out, “Dad, you are a rocket scientist”. So I thought this should be easy to settle. Well, nearly 18 months later and putting in more time than I would have done for a missile design review, providing documentation, bills and negotiating, I got a great settlement that ended up costing me money. What? It costs me money to get T-boned and it was 100% the other persons fault? Example, Medical bills $10,000, they settle for $9,500. They say they gave you $2,000 for pain and suffering. But they don’t pay all $10,000 of your medical bills, only $7,500. You settle for $9,500. Sounds good to me, I got $9,500. WRONG, you got nothing and you are out your deductible. Yes, it’s true. Remember, whatever the snakes (that’s the name the insurance company will be called in the remaining body of this review) settlement is, they pay everyone back before you get any money. So then it hit me as clear as a radar range equation - you may be a rocket scientist, but you are NOT A LAWYER! Now the statute of limitations is fast approaching and I need a lawyer (finally I’m getting to the point of the review). I could go with “in a wreck, need a check” ambulance chasing firm, but I don’t need a check since I’m only out my deductible. I want to be treated fairly and I want a lawyer that will get more than $2,000 for pain and suffering for 2 broken ribs and make the snakes pay as much as possible paying their lawyers to defend them. So I did what every retired person does to think, I went to COSTCO to eat free samples and get a hot dog. That was the best move I made. I ran into a friend of mine and I mentioned the dilemma I was in. He recommended a lawyer that could be for me. After I finished my hot dog, I immediately went home and called (here it comes) Doug Levy. After filling him in on all of the details he responded, “You are an idiot!” I can’t disagree with that logic and at that point I knew I found my lawyer. Doug took pity on me. It was him against the snake. Doug did exactly what I wanted, and in the end, the snake’s settlement cost them what I estimate to be 3 times more than the original settlement offer after factoring in the snake’s lawyer fees, medical expert reviewer fees, mediator fees, and the final settlement to me. Needless to say I got more than $2,000 for pain a suffering for 2 broken ribs and the case was settled with less than 1 month before the court case was scheduled. Doug and his paralegal Michael are knowledgeable and will handle your case with attention to detail that will result and a fair settlement with any snakes you might have to deal with. Let’s face it, neither Doug nor I got rich from this law suit, but he handled this case like it was a multi-million dollar one to me. I could not recommend Doug and Michael enough for anyone that needs expert legal assistance. Thanks to Doug, I’m an idiot no more! Well as far as fighting snakes are concerned. My wife may beg to differ. Remember don’t be an idiot, call Doug Levy first if you ever get T-boned.

Douglas Benjamin Levy PC, The finest in legal representation.

We were involved in an auto accident 12/18. We tried dealing with the other drivers insurance company and decided legal advice was needed. We were referred to Doug who guided us through all of the negotiations. We felt as if Doug was a long time friend. Now we know he cares about his clients!

Five STARS for a 6 figure settlement!

Doug is an upfront and honest guy whose honestly I appreciate. I was referred to him from a friend as I had recently just moved to Arizona. Doug was attentive and persistent getting the facts we needed for my case. There were several hiccups on my claim due to the fact my claim was against my very ow...n auto insurance for a non-insured motorist collision that left me injured. Not only did Doug fight for me when my own insurance company lowballed me with a settlement of 18k when I was due to have a whopping 100k! Which I indeed received rather quickly! Doug is the kind of guy who will go out fighting for what you deserve!

Success

Bad things happen to good people, this is a fact. So when a good person has been wronged and needs to take legal action, they need to seek someone who will understand and guide them. Doug Levy is that attorney. I had an accident because of someone else's neglect Doug understood and guided me throu...gh a process that was so frustrating any good person would have had bad thoughts. Doug was encouraging, frank and patient. The outcome was worth every frustrating minute. Doug’s negotiating skills are the best I have seen in a very long time, which make for the best outcome for his clients. I have the upmost respect for Doug and do not hesitate to recommend him.

Thank you for all your help, Doug!

Doug is a lawyer's lawyer. He is the perfect combination of legal expert, passionate advocate for his clients and for justice, and a caring human being. Doug has taken the time on a number of occasions to give me EXCELLENT advice on how to handle small claims (specifically someone who owed us money...) and other legal issues. He speaks directly and without jargon. To sum up, he is the smart, savvy fighter I would definitely want on my side.

"Talented, Aggressive, Knowledgeable Litigation Attorney 5.0 stars Posted by DAVID I practiced business law in Silicon Valley for forty years. On many occasions I had to select litigation attorneys to prosecute or defend actions for my business clients. I know the tells of good attorneys and bad ones. I can recognize the ones who know their stuff and the ones who don’t. I met Doug Levy in 2005 when a wealthy Arizona friend needed a litigation attorney, and I went with my friend when he met with Doug whom he eventually hired. In that case Doug rejected the insurance company’s offers and took the matter to binding arbitration where Doug secured an award of $190,000, far higher than any of the insurance company’s settlement offers. Over the ensuing years on many occasions I’ve spent many hours with Doug, and I know his personality, his intelligence, his ethics and his character. If I had to pick the top five litigators I’ve met over my forty years of practice, Doug Levy"

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"Candid, smart, hard-working & experienced, Doug Levy is our "go to guy" for Arizona legal matters. Having known him for over a decade, he is always forthright in his answers & able to put us in the right direction. I have also visited his office & he could also be the mayor, he is so popular. He does not waste our time with B.S. and, as a second generation personal injury lawyer, he really understands the important issues deeply. Unlike most "wannabe p.i. lawyers," Doug also puts his money where his mouth is, passionately supporting those groups that help injured victims & disabled workers before the state legislators & on Capitol Hill."

I have enjoyed working with him and will not hesitate to refer clients to him in the future."

Douglas’s comment:

“Please see my "Client Reviews," which are perfect and kind and wonderful. Please see my "Profile," which clearly responds to this nonsense. This suspension had nothing to do with "unethical" nor illegal conduct as a lawyer, nor as a person. That suspension had to do with being wrongfully accused of engaging in litigation with an "offensive personality." I steadfastly denied those allegations and no one ever appeared...”
