Shawn E Nelson

My family hired Shawn Nelson to help with a fairly straight-forward legal matter. He charged a flat rate with 100% due upfront but promised it would take only a 3-4 months to resolve. This man is incompetent without apology, doesn't return calls or emails and rude! Finally after 11 months and not hea...ring from Nelson after 3 months, I had to handle the issue myself and pay the remaining clerical fees that should have been covered in the flat rate. Do not hire this attorney.

.....you never want to go through a lawsuit, especially with a family member. When I first spoke with Shawn, I could tell right from the start that he was principled and KNOWS the real estate market! I could tell by the questions he asked me and at the same time, he had the ability to get right to th...e point. There were many twist and turns in my case, and Shawn would diffuse a potential threat every time. He educated me along the way with due process, as there were times when my emotions would get the best of me and I would want to speed up. Those times were the most difficult and extremely stressful, pivotal decisions had to be made. I remember one such discussion with Shawn, and till this day, I know the decision that we chipped away at during this phone session, set the outcome for my success today with this lawsuit! I would not listen, I was angry and determined that the other party was dragging their heals. I wanted to move forward, I remember my voice was shaking on the phone as I repeatedly instructed Shawn to move forward the way I thought would be best. My emotions got the best of me that day and I had lost some sleep over this decision. What I now realize, is that Shawn is an expert listener. He questioned me always keeping in mind a successful trajectory and how reactiveness would cause a big MISTAKE. I mean I had it!!!...I wanted to proceed without giving the other side time to complete an appraisal. I felt that it wouldn`t matter. With patience Shawn informed and guided me that day, until I truly understood that if I did it my way, it would have not only been a mistake, but a very costly one. I exploded on the phone that day, and Shawn would not cave in until he could get through to me.... by the way, my appraisal came in higher. So if Shawn didn`t successfully indicate to me, how a case like this would be viewed in Court, I truly know, today I would have a broken heart! I just want to say this, we all work so hard to carve our futures out by investing, and I did it with heartfelt intentions, so when a surprise comes along and you don`t know who to turn to, it truly ranks right up there with a major life event, something you will never forget. Shawn, I won`t! Thank you!
