Biography
Mark Beller is a veteran trial attorney and former prosecutor with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office and the City of Scottsdale who has devoted his entire legal career to criminal law. With more than two decades of courtroom experience, he has built a reputation as a skilled, strategic, and relentless advocate for his clients.
Before entering private practice, Mr. Beller spent over a decade as a prosecutor, where he gained invaluable insight into how the State investigates crimes, builds cases, and seeks convictions. This insider knowledge allows him to anticipate prosecutorial strategies and develop effective, aggressive defense strategies designed to protect his clients at every stage of a case.
Mr. Beller graduated from the University of Arizona and earned his Juris Doctor from the Arizona State University College of Law. While in law school, he worked with both the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office and the Pima County Public Defender’s Office, giving him early exposure to both sides of the criminal justice system and helping shape his practical, balanced approach to criminal litigation.
After being admitted to the Arizona Bar, Mr. Beller served as a Deputy County Attorney with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for five years, where he prosecuted felony offenses and tried numerous cases. He was selected to serve in multiple trial divisions and was entrusted with mentoring and training new prosecutors, a responsibility given only to attorneys who demonstrate strong trial skills and sound judgment.
Mr. Beller later served as an Assistant City Prosecutor for the City of Scottsdale for six years, where he handled a high-volume caseload with a focus on DUI enforcement, juvenile offenses, commercial trucking violations, and retail liquor law cases. His prosecutorial experience includes cases ranging from misdemeanors to the most serious felony offenses, including DUI, drug crimes, aggravated assault, and homicide.
For the past 14 years, Mr. Beller has focused his practice on defending individuals accused of crimes and protecting their constitutional rights. He has represented clients in courts throughout Arizona and has handled thousands of criminal cases, including hundreds of jury and bench trials. He is known as a prepared, aggressive, and highly effective courtroom advocate who is not afraid to challenge the government’s case, expose weaknesses in the evidence, and fight for the best possible outcome.
At the same time, Mr. Beller understands that facing criminal charges can be one of the most difficult and stressful experiences a person can endure. He believes clients deserve not only a strong defense, but also clear communication, honesty, and respect. He takes the time to listen, to explain the process, and to make sure every client knows they have someone in their corner who truly cares about what happens to them.
