Starting on January 1, 2011, the owners of the law firms of McKeighan Pierce PC (est. 2003) and DiCarlo Caserta & Phelps PLLC (est. 2005) combined their practices into a new and more dynamic firm known as DiCarlo Caserta McKeighan & Phelps PLC. The new firm marries a strong complex litigation practice with an established business transactions and estate planning practice, while maintaining an emphasis on personal relationships that are fostered in a small firm setting. The litigation practice emphasizes complex commercial litigation, contingent commercial litigation (including accounting malpractice matters), and personal injury matters. The transactional practice focuses on businesses and business owners, including contracts, business sales and purchases, entity formation and governance, real estate and other asset transactions, and estate and succession planning.
Jace McKeighan is a native of upstate New York and Vermont. Prior to attending Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, he worked as a corporate paralegal in New York City for two years. Upon graduating from law school in 1994, Mr. McKeighan served as a confidential law clerk to the Honorable Scott D. Keller of the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas in Reading, PA, where he drafted the trial court opinion in Pennsyvlania v. Sattazahn that was upheld by the United States Supreme Court in a 5-4 decision in January 2003. Before moving to Arizona in 1997, Mr. McKeighan worked as an associate for two years with the Poughkeepsie, New York firm of McCabe & Mack, LLP, concentrating in commercial transactions and litigation, employment discrimination defense, and insurance defense. He continued his practice in commercial litigation, transactions and personal injury law with the Arizona firms of Beus, Gilbert & Devitt and Grant Williams, P.C.
Mr. McKeighan is admitted to practice in the states of Arizona and New York, and in the Federal District Court for the District of Arizona and the Eastern, Southern and Northern Districts of New York. He is a lifetime member of The Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and a member the American Bar Association, the Business Law and Estate Law sections of the State Bar of Arizona, the Maricopa County Bar Association, and the Scottsdale Bar Association.
Mr. McKeighan resides in north Scottsdale with his wife and three children. He is a volunteer with the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy.

"Without any hesitation, I endorse this attorney. I trust him immensely. He is extremely knowledgeable in his area of practice and any client should feel confident with his ability to assist him or her with their estate planning work. In family law, which is my area of practice, clients often have needs to work with an estate planning lawyer to ensure his or her post divorce interests are secured and to protect rights of children. I refer all such clients to Jace and it gives me relief for the sake of the client."
"I have known Jace McKeighan for years and he is without question one of the most down to earth, level headed attorneys I have ever had the privilege of meeting. His judgement is impeccable. In short, Jace possesses one of the most highly coveted traits that one would want in their attorney -- common sense. I give him my highest recommendation."
