Since 2007, I have practiced exclusively in the area of criminal defense. I have never prosecuted another human being, nor would I ever want to do that. Instead, I have spent my entire legal career zealously representing hundreds of clients in matters ranging from misdemeanor DUI cases to homicides and complex white collar investigations at every stage of proceedings from pre-charging to appeals and petitions for post-conviction relief. I have achieved not guilty verdicts in cases ranging from drug offenses and felony flight to violent crimes and dangerous crimes against children. I have also successfully achieved dismissals in cases involving drug crimes, sex crimes, white collar crimes, conspiracy, aggravated assault, and various violent offenses. I pride myself not just on my legal abilities and desire to help my clients, but also on my availability. I provide every single client with my cell number and promptly return all calls, texts, and emails. You are welcome to call me directly at (480) 299-2314 if you think I might be able to help you in any way.

I met Matt when I was a law student volunteering at a homeless shelter. He graciously gave his time to those who needed it most. What stood out to me most was Matt’s down-to-earth personality. He truly made clients feel special, valued, and at ease. Matt is one of the most knowledgeable and creative attorneys that I know. He is a mentor, a friend, and an incredible lawyer. I frequently call him for advice and I frequently read his legal blogs. If I ever needed a criminal defense lawyer, Matt would be one of the few people that I would trust to defend me.

Most trust lawyers as much as communists or fellas that drink wine, but Matt is a knowledgeable gent that puts folks at ease. From his firm handshake to his enthusiastic coaching, Matt will be your North star. I'm sure that before your experience with Matt, the thought of meeting with a lawyer will be as enjoyable as enduring a kick in the bean pouch from a wild bucking bronco. Matt, however will alleviate all fears. If he wasn't a committed and loving family man, I'd try to pair him up with my daughter Geradline, who was runner up fair queen 2 years in a row. God bless America, and God bless Matt.

Joan Bundy, Criminal defense Attorney on May 23, 2011
Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter
I endorse this lawyer. He is a consummate professional and a very nice human being. I worked with him for more than a year at Gila River Indian Community when I was a prosecutor and he was a contract public defender and private criminal defense attorney. Like his law firm partner Adrian Little, he was always a pleasure to work with and seemed most interested in seeing justice done. He was honest and straightforward; he would just tell me what he knew and what he thought would be a reasonable plea offer. I didn't always agree with him 100 percent, but his being so laser-focused on the best possible outcome made my job easier in helping us reach an expedient and fair compromise in many cases, avoiding a lengthy, emotionally draining and time-intensive trial with a totally unpredictable result whether by judge or jury. I would recommend him without reservation to any criminal defendants needing competent, compassionate, calculated representation.
