Aaron J. Reed is originaly from Las Vegas, NV, and lived there for 23 years before moving to Phoenix, Arizona to attend law school. Aaron received his bachelors degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where he was a 3-time letterwinner for the football team as a wide receiver as well as  two-time Academic All Conference selection. 

Aaron's passion for criminal defense started during his time at UNLV. Aaron began an internship with his uncle, Norman Reed, who was a deputy public defender with the Clark County Public Defender's Office. Norman was a member of the homicide unit and routinley handled death penalty homicide cases. Aaron fell in love with criminal defense and knew he wanted to spend his career defending people who couldn't defend themselves.

Upon moving to Phoenix, Aaron's passion for criminal defense only intensified. He began a judicial externship with the Honorable Sherry Stephens of the Maricopa County Superior Court.  After this, Aaron worked as an extern for the Maricopa County Public Defender's Office, working on a project to help illegal immigrants who were convicted under a law that was deemed unconstitutional by the US Supreme Court.  After this, Aaron became a law clerk for Kenneth S. Countryman before passing the bar. 

Aaron was originally hired by the Dwane Cates Law Group in 2018 and began specializing in major felony cases. While at DCLG, Aaron was lead attorney on a wide range of felony cases, including first-degree murder, aggravated assaults, kidnappings, sexual assaults and high level drug cases. This experience led to a partnership with Dwane Cates in 2022. Together they handle any type of criminal matter and bring the aggression and experience with them.  Aaron is also a well traveled attorney. He has been the lead litigator on felony cases in every county in Arizona except for one (Greenlee County) and continually gets fantastic results for his clients.  Aaron has won complete acquittals, or outright dismissals, on cases involving first-degree murder, second-degree murder, manslaughter, sexual assault of a minor, sexual assault, possession of child pornagraphy, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and trafficking narcotics for sale.  These trial victories have come across multiple counties in Arizona, giving him the experience that very few attorneys in Arizona have. 

Aaron has never been a prosecutor. He has never worked together with the police to convict people of crimes. Many attorneys believe this is something to brag about, and that it gives them a leg up on the competition. This isn't true.
