Best Lawyer!

When my wife and I decided to look for an immigration lawyer for me to become a resident, we looked online and it was here on AVVO that we found Mrs. Cardenas. From the moment we met her and spoke to her about my case, I felt very assured and confident that she was the best lawyer a decision that I ...will never regret. Mrs. Cardenas made a tedious case seem like a breeze, gave me copies of every single paper that was filled including copies of the paperwork I provided to her. She called to inform me about my case and appointments every time there was an update and was on time on my appointment date. Because she made my process seem easy, I hired her again when I decided to become a citizen. Again she was straightforward and I felt assured again that she was the right lawyer, and I was not let down. On my appointment day, she was there on time, took notes and made sure the interviewer asked the right questions. Now here I am just about to do my Oath of citizenship in a few days, something that I longed for many years and thanks to Mrs. Cardenas these dream has become reality. I cannot thank her enough for her time and knowledge in regards to my case. Thank you, Gloria!

Don’t waste your money!

I hire this person to represent me in immigration court, she show up late to my hearing and ask me why I was there that day!! Seriously? She didn’t even know anything about my case when we were in court after we previously meet in her office. They were more worried about getting a contract sign an...d get a check, set payments plan. After I pay here over $8,000 dlls she decide to drop my case because I renew my own working permit by myself for a couple times. She was really upset because every time she renew a work permit she charges $500 dlls. Technically she lost $1000 dlls and that’s totally unacceptable to her. Only care about money not clients!! Worst lawyer out there!!

Worst experience

I'll start off by sayin she basically stole my money and did nothing for me. All she wanted to talk was money money money and not one time did she make me feel like I was in good hands. She lied every chance she had and always kept very important details about my case instead of being 100% honest she... would go around the reality of the case and just lie. The day I hired her was the worse day ever she wouldn't even want to attend a couple hearing because she was either on stupid vacation spending the money she takes from people like me or she just wasn't felling "good". I regret hiring her because thanks to her I almost got deported and of course in order for you to even ask a question through email or phone calls they MADE SURE you knew it was going to cost you to get an answer. Familia America and all staff is seriously the most ridiculous untrained company. Now if any of you are seeking for REAL help I definitely suggest avoing her and hiring a well trained lawyer because you WILL regret it if you end up in her BS. She made me do things that weren't even NECESSARY at all just because she couldn't find a way to help she would just tell me to do this or this will happen in court or do that or that will happen in court so I would comply with the requests and she NEVER mentioned anything that she made me do in court so why the hell would she make me do things that were never going to be brought up in my hearings.? Again don't waste your time with Gloria Cardenas or any of her unprofessional staff. Look for someone else! That's why she's holds 8.8 out 10 because she isn't the best at what she does and she shouldn't even have a license for this when she can't even learn to treat people with respect. She's a waste of time and WILL be a waste of your money. AVOID HER

Fraudulent Post. AVVO IS CONDUCTING AN INVESTIGATION. I have been an attorney for 25 years in good standing. I have decades of experience in state, federal, and immigration courts. I attended UCLA, and Hastings College of the Law, and have been recognized as an excellent attorney. During this time, I have never missed a scheduled court hearing, never lied to a client, never made a client do anything he/she did not agree with or which was not true, and never charged fees that have not been earned Read all of the other reviews, and my record will speak for itself. If I ever acted this way as stated, I would surely have been disbarred many years ago. On the contrary, I am a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and on the list of attorneys with the EOIR, and USCIS. All requiring a detailed background check of my personal and professional record. I aggressively defend my clients, and do all that I can to succeed for my client. The only thing that I can think of is that this is posted by a competitor, or a very angry person who has clearly stated false things which I cannot defend against specifically but would be more than willing to address. The fact that someone has posted 8.8 out of 10 indicates to me that this person simply wants to keep my rating below a 10. Thank you for taking the time to read this response, and consult with me in the hopes of representing you.

Family experience with Gloria Cardenas and Familia America

I was born in the United States to my mom and dad who are from Mexico. My mom and dad left their beloved land of Mexico to find a better life in the United States. My mom and dad have always worked hard to provide a better life then they had to myself and my siblings. I cannot thank them enough fo...r what they sacrificed for me. The only way that I could think to show my appreciation to my parents was to help them with their immigration status. I knew that there must be something I could do for them, I just wasn't sure where to even start. I researched many Immigration Attorney's online and I just didn't feel comfortable enough with any of them to open up my family. I then heard Gloria Cardenas on the radio one day and I knew I had found my attorney. I called and scheduled a consultation with her. I was amazed by the professionalism of the person I spoke to on the phone. I was told there would be a charge of the consultation, and that the money I paid would go towards the amount paid if I hired Gloria. I felt comfortable with that because it is not wasted money. I was then scheduled for a consultation and all my information was taken over the phone. I then went and told my mom and dad what I was planning on doing. At first they were resistant to the idea of exposing themselves and their story to a stranger. I then showed them Gloria's picture and explained my experience of the phone call. My mom came around to the idea quickly, but my dad was still hesitate. The day of the appointment came and we went to the office to meet with Gloria. At the office it was busy and hectic. Gloria was running late with the appointment before us. My mom and I were fine with that, but my dad was a little upset. I explained to my dad that it was a good thing that Gloria was busy. It means that she takes her time when meeting with people. He settled down a bit after hearing that. It came time for us to meet with Gloria. We all walked into her office and sat down. Gloria was so organized and she went over my parents immigration case. My mom opened up right away to Gloria, but my dad again was hesitant. After watching Gloria and listening to her my dad final opened up about his immigration story. I actually learned things about my dad that day that I had never know. I learned that my parents are strong and brave individuals for making the decision to come to the United States. I learned about the long trek through the Deseret and all the obstacles that were presented to them as they came to the Untied States. Gloria listened to what my parents said and the documentation that they had and then decided the best course of action for their immigration cases. We hired Gloria on that day. I am happy to say that I can know help my parents solve their immigration status. Thank you Gloria for keeping our family together in the United States!

Amazing Lawyer

Hello my name is Araceli, I would like to start by stating that I was detained for one week and had an immigration hold while I was in jail I had felt that all hope was lost. I had previously hired another attorney that promised me results and he would not attend court with me. This is when I had b...een looking for another attorney and I had found Gloria Cardenas. I heard about Gloria from my sister who had listened to Gloria on her radio show. Once I was released I came to speak with Gloria regarding my case. I came to the appointment with Gloria and her staff was friendly and treated me well I felt comfortable about coming in to meet with Gloria. Once I met with Gloria she had advised me that she would be able to take my case .I clearly remember her words stating that my case has already been won. She told me that I would be able to obtain my work permit and would be able to renew it every year. I felt very excited and knew she was the attorney for me. I came to speak with Gloria on September 8 2013 and I had court the following week on September 19. Gloria had attended with me and during the hearing the judge had asked for proof of me residing in the U.S and I was given another court date. I was very pleased with Gloria she had fought for my case and I was given another court date to be able to show proof of how long I have been in the United States. I was given 2 court dates in which both Gloria attended, I had felt very comfortable having her as my attorney she knew how to represent me very professionally and had fought diligently for my case. I was initially given another court date for this September and Gloria had got the judge to dismiss the court. I am truly grateful 6 months after I came in to meet with Gloria I am now in the process of being able to have my work permit. I went to my biometrics appointment in March and am now waiting for my permit to arrive. I suggest for anyone with an immigration process to have patience this is not an easy process. It is easy to think that just because the attorney can fight for your case that it’ll get done immediately. All immigration processes take time and patience it is also a very emotional process but I suggest for you to put your faith in Gloria Cardenas she is very professional and will obtain results in your best interest.
