Randy was great, as well as his whole team. I had a challenging situation as I did not live in the area, and he and his whole team were very welcoming and did an amazing job especially when I had additional questions about my case. I would recommend him to anyone seeking legal council and representat...ion in the Mono County area.

I hired this lawyer to handle a traffic citation in violation of tire chain required. He took the retainer (very expensive) right away, scheduled a trial date and came to court completely unprepared. He did not even bother to find out the weather forecast for the date of the alleged violation. The of...ficer appeared and testified and it was the officer's word against NO word. Not surprising the citation was NOT dismissed and/or reduced. If I did not hire this lawyer, the outcome would still be the same, but 4 times less expensive!

Randy is a nice guy and is pretty honest and will tell you what you need to hear, but as far as standing up for me when I needed him to ( and what I hired him to do ) , he failed me. Basically I paid for him to make a few phone calls and send some e-mails to the district attorney ... In which he aske...d the district attorney to call me direct and hear my side of the story. ( I later found out after the fact through talking with a 2nd attorney that he should never have suggested a phone call between me and the D.A'S office, but rather should have taken it upon himself to do what I was paying him to do. I also voiced my concern with one of the girls in his office about the matter and she rudely told me that I was wrong and that Randy would never have told the D.A to call me direct. However, I have 2 emails from him that he copied me to, where twice he emailed the D.A asking them to call me direct. I just spoke with the Ca State Bar and they also told me that it is not proper edicate and should not have happened and asked me if I was willing to forward the emails to them and that they will be looking into the matter further. I had an abundance of proof to show my innocence in my case including pictures, phone records and eye witnesses to the location of the incident but Randy just did not seem too interested in fighting for me or for justice. I feel I was railroaded by the entire system and the money making scheme that mono county has going for itself. After doing my homework and speeking with several others who had similar problems in the area, I came to the conclusion that it is just better to avoid traveling through the area of mono county.

Please read this if you are thinking about using Randy Gephart for services in the Mammoth area. What he does not explain to you, nor does his website, is that he IS the public defender for that area. This means that if you choose to accept a public defender he is the one assigned to you, OR you can ...pay to hire him to do the same job. We had a terrible experience, $10,000 later we realized we could have had his services for free and of course he failed to mention this important information to us.
