About David
Biography
Dave started working with The Advocates before he graduated from law school, and found his home among the law firm. He was hired Jan. 2005 as a legal intern, and after he passed the bar, he became an attorney for the firm in Oct. 2005. Since becoming a lawyer, Dave has settled over $60-million for The Advocates’ clients in personal damages, financial losses, missed wages and medical bill compensation, including some work he has done with personal injury and mass torte cases. In addition, Dave has participated in over 150 meditations, arbitrations and jury trials. He was recognized for several years by Utah Business Magazine as a “Utah Legal Elite,” and by Mountain States Super Lawyers magazine as a “Rising Star.” The “Rising Star” award is determined by peer review and professional achievement, and is given to less than 5% of practicing attorneys.
Before joining The Advocates, Dave graduated from BYU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology – accompanied by a minor in Business Management – in Aug. 1999. After graduation, he was admitted to California Western’s law school, and graduated June 2005.
Dave and his wife Katie have four children – 14-year-old Austin, 12-year-old Josh, 8-year-old Bella and 6-year-old Will – and love to be active outside and play sports. The family has a special tie to Lake Powell, and loves to go on family boating trips during the summer.
In addition to spending time with his family, Dave coaches his children’s basketball and football teams. He also volunteers his time with the Boys Scouts of America, and mentors young men in his ward.
