I met with Jim Alder to setup an NFA trust in early December. I'm aware that for a *very* minor savings, you can set these up online, but for the small difference in price, Jim met with me for an hour, explained all the details of the trust, notarized my signature of it, answered questions that I had..., provided me both a hard and electronic copy of the trust, provided additional information about filing ATF forms, and I have a trust backed by his firm and he is available to answer any questions and contact me in the future if laws/regulations change. To say that represents an incredible value is an understatement! Jim was very nice, down to earth, and demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of the rules and regulations pertaining to the NFA including potential changes being proposed to the existing laws. I'd highly recommend using him for NFA trusts. He may be equally adept with other forms of estate and trust planning, but that wasn't the purpose of my transaction, although I will certainly reach out to him about family trust planning in the future. Again, highly recommended.
