Simply does not care at all

I first met with David not knowing he was not a lawyer. He was nice and sympathetic. I needed to act fast and hired them that very night. I first saw Cole then was changed to Thomas who was Very unprofessional. We had an appointment with Thomas at his office he was late I called his cell # he an...swered and he was stuck and traffic . I could clearly hear his kids in the back round. When in consult he always took personal phone calls ( kids wanting to play xbox ) He told us we could go to trial and this in that and when it came for us to ask to go to trial he said " no we can't do that, we will lose. Pretty much everything he said was bull !! he we got the same deal they had already offered without an attorney except we were now out THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS!! If he is not familiar with certain cases he shouldn't take them. He seems to be good with DUI and that's it ! I hired him because I thought I had no time according to David. Would I recommend him HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never in a million years. If there's anyone in this world I dislike it is Thomas If I could find a lawyer to help me sue him for all the false and misleading information he gave us I would!! I don't even give him a 1 star but I have to because there are not negative stars

Unhelpful

After reviewing all of my documents , they decided that a letter was the best course of action. The letter got no response, which I was lead to believe that the bank was legally obligated to respond. We sent the letter again and once more after that, non of which got any response. I was then infor...med that was the end of my $1000 retainer and they had no recommendations on how to move forward.

Please reach out to us. We will be happy to help solve your concern. We are sorry you had a negative experience but, based upon what you are saying, it seems that you are expecting us to be able to control how or whether an opposing party will respond to a demand letter. Unfortunately, not every case can be won nor is it advisable to sue every time someone ignores your demands. We never take a case if we think we can't help, but sometimes we work for a result and fail. That is part of being a lawyer, even a good lawyer. Your review does not indicate whether you were willing to pursue the case or not. It seems likely that we advised you not to waste further money on this lawsuit, but you mischarectarized that as not having recommendations for moving forward. We ALWAYS have recommendations for proceeding forward, but it is not always a good idea to keep fighting. We would have advised you from the beginning about likelihoods of success and told you risks of proceeding. We feel you should reconsider your review. Regardless, we would still like to resolve your concern. Call me and we will work it out together.

"I have had the pleasure of meeting and observing Tom in court. I have been practicing for over 30 years in Utah and I can say that it is fairly easy for me to distinguish between those practitioners who merely go through the motions and those you are really invested in their clients' outcomes. Tom is clearly the latter. He is not selfish with his advice to those less practiced in various matters and, on the rare occasions outside advice is necessary, he readily seeks it. I would feel comfortable having Tom help a family member or friend. Those seeking quality representation should feel equally comfortable."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
