Megan Rae brings 20 years of experience to New Leaf Family. Originally from Connecticut, she earned a degree with honors in Sociology from the University of Maryland in 2004. She began her career as a paralegal with Freeman & Freeman, assisting with complex patent and trademark litigation matters and class action claims. She also became a certified mediator with specialized training in family law.
After moving to Colorado for law school, Megan attended the evening program at the University of Denver while working for Recht & Kornfeld, assisting with both civil and criminal cases. Following her admission to the Colorado Bar in 2009, she focused her practice on helping family law clients in private practice.
Megan’s legal practice is grounded in empathy and advocacy. She considers it an honor and responsibility to assist people during their most challenging times. Megan has three inspiring children, a golden retriever, and four cats. She enjoys surfing, snowboarding, and cooking. Additionally, she is the founder of Yoga Olas in Salida, Colorado, where she continues to guide yoga classes, lead retreats, and train teachers.
