Biography
At Maher & Maher Law PC, Joe Maher represents clients facing DUI and criminal charges with experienced, trial-tested advocacy. A peer-recognized top DUI attorney in Colorado Springs, Joe began his career as an El Paso County prosecutor, supervising deputy DAs in DUI cases and serving on the Vehicular Homicide team; since then he has tried more than 60 jury trials to verdict as both a prosecutor and defense lawyer. He has pursued advanced DUI defense training—SFST and Detection, SFST Instructor Development, ARIDE, and Axion Laboratories forensic gas chromatography instruction used by Colorado forensic labs—and applies that technical knowledge to challenge evidence and protect clients’ rights. A former Marine captain who led troops on three deployments to Iraq and earned the Marine Corps Association’s Chambers Award, Joe also served as deputy legislative assistant for military and veterans’ issues to Senator Chuck Hagel. His military leadership and courtroom record inform a fierce commitment to the Constitution. Joe and his wife Kimberly are the proud parents of four boys; he coaches youth hockey and remains active in the community.
