Todd is a good and decent man
I brought a family member in to meet with Todd after an incident of domestic violence caused by her alcoholic husband. I think Todd recognized within the first five minutes that she had not reached "rock bottom" and was not ready to leave her husband, but he talked through the issues (both legal and ...

Contemplating to hire
I spoke with Todd on my free consult and he was very knowledgeable but I got the sence that it was all geared around money. I have his firm on the table as possibly retaining them but I am also turned off by the number of times his co-workers call me asking if I am ready to retain them. I feel when I...
My apologies for following up with you...apparently multiple times. We have processes and procedures that we follow and it is a basic follow up contact to make sure nothing else is needed. It’s really a focus on customer service. This is the first complaint I’ve received. So it’s helpful. We have limited space available at times and we let people know that as well. We provide exceptional service and I’ve emphasized the importance of this from the start to the finish. If you ever think a firm is all about the money, based on a telephone call, then You should choose a different attorney. The costs are relevant and need to be communicated, especially when we are discussing multiple experts and separate assets. We are direct and honest. No BS. It’s not for everyone. * update: this potential client has now retained so I look forward to reading her review upon the case completion.

Unsettling experience
I called desperately seeking an attorney for some family law matters. I needed help to revise a parenting plan to be exact. After giving the paralegal a brief description of what was going on, she then went on to tell me how important my case was and how it was time sensitive and that she could get m...
I remember you Kristin. You said you couldn't get a free consult. In fact, my office scheduled a consult but you missed it. You bring up an important issue regarding costs. Yours wasn’t a "simple parenting plan revision." It sounded to me like a post decree relocation (See case IRM Ciesluk), which is perhaps the most challenging and in depth representation that this, or any law firm, can attempt. It is also perhaps the most time consuming and expensive representation compared to all others, often including court appointed experts (Parental Responsibility Evaluators). Litigation may well have been necessary. The fact that you are not married was irrelevant. You are correct that, while there are times when we offer payment plans, we would not do so in your case. Cari (our remarkable and committed New Accounts Manager) was simply being honest with you yet still scheduled the Monday appointment. There are less expensive solo practitioners that we refer such cases to because they could perhaps offer you unbundled services or perhaps flat fee agreements...neither of which we offer. Not every case is a fit for my firm. This doesn't mean that we aren't compassionate. It means that I know what it takes to successfully handle a post decree relocation case, and the reality is that in my opinion you would have been required to hire and pay for at least one expert witness. Regardless, knowing that you had limited resources I did set up the initial consultation because we wanted to help. If we don't call back then we wish you well nevertheless. -Todd Burnham”
"Todd is an excellent divorce litigation attorney. He is honest, aggressive, and knows his cases cold. He certainly isn't afraid of the courtroom yet looks for the win-win scenario. He is both a challenging adversary and excellent to work with."
"Todd and I have worked together on the same side of many issues, as well as opposing sides of many more. I have always found Todd to be competent, professional, and honest. While many don't think it's possible, Todd and I have always been able to find the "win" for all sides. He's a credit to our profession and I look forward to the next time I have the chance to rub shoulders with him and his firm."
"I highly endorse Todd as a family lawyer, and not just because he hired me to work at his firm! Upon moving to Colorado this year, I was very cautious in deciding where to work - I wanted a firm with a stellar reputation, and stellar leadership. I have not been disappointed. Further, Todd is a gifted family attorney with a passion for the practice - he is always looking at how things can be done better, both for his clients and for his firm."
"I endorse this lawyer. Todd is a no-nonsense counsel who is knowledgable in the law and willing to take a stand. I have mediated several matters in which he represented a party, and he was reasonable and well-prepared."
"Todd passionately advocates for his clients, and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and practical experience. As a fellow attorney in the community, I absolutely endorse him."
"I met Todd earlier this year on an ugly post decree custody case. Despite the matter being highly contentious and both lawyers being ready to fight it out in court, we were able to get things settled with reasonable terms. Through the process, Todd fought for his client. He also demonstrated a great grasp of the law and the court system. Todd's a good guy and a good attorney to have on the other side of a case."
"Mr. Burnham knows a good case when he sees one! If you go to him and he accepts you as a client, know you are in the best hands and you can expect the best result."
"Todd is an ultimate strategist and a true professional that tirelessly strives to achieve every goal for each and every client. I endorse this lawyer."
"Todd is intimidating and strategic. He is a natural in the courtroom and a zealous advocate for abused children. I originally met Todd as opposing counsel on a very difficult, emotional case. Todd was realistic, but relentless in the representation of his clients. I endorse this lawyer."
"Todd and I have worked on several cases opposite one another; some of which were contentious. He is the consummate professional."
"I endorse Todd Burnham. Todd is straight-shooting, straight-talking lawyer who cares about his cases and his clients. In my experience with Todd, he stays focused on the issues that matter and works tirelessly to bring positive results to his clients."
"Todd is a great attorney and I would recommend him to someone looking for a competent, intelligent, straightforward, and professional attorney. He is knowledgeable in many practice areas, and excels at negotiating on behalf of his client."
"I endorse this lawyer. Todd is the type of lawyer who isn't afraid to make a hard argument on behalf of his client."
"I endorse this lawyer. Todd represented two parties in a complex commercial dispute with multiple parties, diverse and competing interests, and divergent legal theories of recovery and defense. His preparedness, level head, and practical approach minimized litigation costs for all parties and was a major factor in making settlement of the case possible. I gladly recommend his services!"
"I endorse this lawyer. Todd is a dedicated and passionate advocate who focuses on the needs of his clients and their families."

I heard there are non-profit organizations that can help you file for bankruptcy for a low cost, around $50. Is this legit?
