I feel very lucky to have been represented by Maren Skulborstad . She’s a very knowledgeable and professional attorney. I knew she had a very large caseload during the course of my divorce proceedings; however, she made me feel as though I was her only case. First, I’m a member of Legal Shield. I’m also out of state but my case was in CO. Finally I’m deaf and require accommodations for this. When my whole family court ordeal started I was referred to the Skulborstad firm. Honestly I was clueless in the whole process. My attorney within a few weeks had... taken a new job elsewhere and I was offered to either switch to a new firm to stay. I learned that staying would have me being represented by the namesake of the firm “Maren”. Reading her bio I came to find that she cared as much about paternal rights as she did maternal and this struck a chord. Needless to say my experience with Skulborstad was amazing. The opposition made mistakes and she caught em, they tried to play dirty and she called them out and actually got the judge to rebuke them. The whole time she was professional, ethical and compassionate and the end results was fair. Throughout the process she was able to work with my hearing loss accommodating me through interpreters and using technology without missing a beat. Making sure the courts were aware of my needs during hearings. This is critical for me. Men, if you need a family lawyer willing to listen and work for you! Skulborstad Legal group is your team. Ladies I’m sure you’ll get the same treatment. Overall this firm is amazing. I hope I never need to use them again but will gladly call them up if I need too and ABSOLUTELY REFER and RECOMMEND!!!

Bottom line- you can’t go wrong with Ms. Maren Skulborstad. She is positively the best. Why do I say this? I’ve hired Maren on three separate occasions to help with establishing a permanent parenting plan, defend requests to change the plan and most recently to enforce payment of child support and... collect back child support. On every occasion Maren conducted herself professionally - not just with me- but with the opposing counsel as well. (Unlike many of her peers, Maren’s integrity is impeccable. She is well respected by the judges.) Maren usually thought of more than one way to approach my cases and would present each option to me with her recommendation, then give me the final choice of which direction I wanted to go. She has never steered me wrong. Furthermore- in every situation- Maren has had my child’s best interest in mind. This, to me, is the most important. Often in a divorce, emotions lead to poor decisions… Maren ensured emotions didn’t take over. It’s true- there were times when in a particular moment I may not have liked something Maren had to tell me… but that’s one of the things I loved about Maren. She always told me the truth- whether it was how the judge would perceive my case or how the law is written. She always told me straight and in lay person language. On one occasion I thought I’d save money by using a different attorney - and hired someone other than Maren. What a nightmare! Not only did the other attorney take FOREVER to respond to emails (Maren is prompt and communicates the status of your case regularly) - but it was clear that even after 20yrs this other atty did not have as strong of a command of family law as Maren. She lost me thousands of dollars and cost me even more. (I ended up hiring Maren to come in and clean up “the mess” as best she could.) Why hire Maren? She has integrity. She positively knows law. She will work incredibly hard for you. She does the job right the first time- and doesn’t draw things out. She is passionate about law… and even more passionate about families. Truly- I will never hire a different attorney again.

I cannot emphasize how amazing Maren is, an excellent lawyer and as the title suggests; she is simply the best. She successfully organized immediate phone calls, and emails. She was responsive with all communication, and was a great listener on a personal level especially when it pertained to my case.../concerns. My opinions were valued, and my doubts were always reassured. Maren and her legal team went above and beyond to assist me with my custody case. Her advice was firm, reasonable, and professional. Anyone who is reading this review, please note that my little girl is my world and anyone who thinks the same way, I would highly recommend her.
