Child custody

Horrible lawyer. We hired him for our relocation. Afterwards our plans have changed and we didnt have to relocate any more. He talked us into going for a temporary full custody while my ex was gone. We ended up loosing the hearing: 1) He didnt communicate with us for 3 months, and I heard from him... 1 week before the hearing; 2) We communicated with his paralegal who didnt return my phone calles for days and charged me for trying to contact her again; 3)He forgot that we had hearing on Monday and thought he still had time till Wed to get ready for it. 4) He didnt show up for the mediation and I was sitting there like an idiot waiting for him to show up. I refused a deal that would have benefited my son in a long run because of it; 5) My child support increased by $50 and we paid $8000 in fees; 6) My son ended up living half time with my ex's elderly parent (75 years of age), and he never lived with them or stayed with them ever in his life-they live in a different state and never stayed with us under one roof when they visited. 7) he is completely rude and unprofessional; 8) He double charged us on our fees and made us pay for the check with overcharged amount that he sent to us TWICE. I truly hope someone will suspend his license to practice law in CO. This lawyer is totally useless.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
