Steve and Donna were extremely helpful, kind, thorough, informative, always reassuring and smoothing over my fears while working with me over several months through the complicated process (life is messy) of finally getting to the day where we could file my bankruptcy claim with the courts, meet with... the trustee and reassure me again when I hadn't heard anything in weeks after the meeting. They handled my freak outs and irritability with grace as I felt completely overwhelmed at times. It would have helped my anxiety to have clearer expectations of time frames for our meetings. Maybe this is unreasonable as there are many factors involved and I know I didn't always have everything I needed as far as information or paperwork they asked me to bring. They were always willing to go over our expected meeting time if they did not have a client waiting. It seemed like there were several times that I was asked for paperwork I had already given to them. Maybe that's part of the process and if so an explanation of why would have eased my anxiety and stress. Filing bankruptcy is a highly emotional experience and I realize that my perception of events is subjective to my emotions. The thing I will always be grateful for with Steve and Donna was the way they normalized filing bankruptcy even if my brain wouldn't allow me to be kind to myself. They continually reassured me that it was going to workout and be ok.
