Best Decision

I strongly recommend retaining attorney James Stanley. I did and it was the best decision possible. He is very knowledgeable and capable. He took charge of the case allowing me to deal with my personal responsibilities with little worry of my legal situation. He was also available when things were bl...eak and stressful. He handled the aspects of my case with confidence and directness. Yet he accepted a collaborative effort explaining the law and keeping me directed to what was important. My suggestions when not relevant to the case were explained and he reminded me the direction we were to head. My relevant suggestions were professionally documented, expanded, and included in my defense package. What I personally appreciate about his representation were that everything he told me was true (even if it seemed strange to everyday life), he continued to tirelessly advocate on my behalf even after he had met the original expected goals, he was always prepared, aware of the court schedule, and he willingly took care of details on my behalf such as a twenty-five dollar court charge that did not apply to my court costs. I believe no other attorney could have done a better job representing me.

Highly Reccomended

I could not be happier with the outcome and service Jim provided. I began with a Traffic offense that carried a maximum penalty of 1 year in jail and through Jim's excellent strategy and extensive knowledge he was able to get it reduced to a minor traffic violation and a $30 fine. From his legal rese...arch Jim found on obscure Colorado statute that impacted the case very heavily in my favor. Throughout the process Jim was very professional and knowledgeable and kept me informed with new discoveries. Not only is Jim an exceptional lawyer but a good person. I would highly recommend him.

BEST OUTCOME IMAGINABLE!

I was charged with Trespassing and Disturbing the Peace after a dispute with my hotel on a business trip. I am a business professional who found himself in jail for two days with thoughts of losing my job and my family. I had never been in trouble before so when I heard the max sentence for my case...s were a year each I was mortified. I hired Jim because during his consultations I knew right off the bat he was much more strategic and calculated than most lawyers and definitely more than the two I had spoken to before him. Jim was very realistic about the case and extremely transparent of all details. His experience in the court system showed as we put together an amazing package of character letters and documents showing my attendance in counseling which resulted in the DA offering a plea deal. This plea deal was so good that I don't have any probation or community service but only have to prove that for the next six months I attended my current counselor. After the six months my case will be sealed in a non-conviction and off my record as if it never happened! On top of that he was a motion to appear in court on my behalf so I never had to return to Denver and go to court. There is no doubt in my mind that his expertise and strategically proactive approach made this impossible outcome a reality. I would recommend him to anyone who is in need of the best lawyer in Denver.

Mr. Stanley gets a dismissal

Mr. Stanley was awesome! I hired him to help my little sister who had a criminal charge of misdemeanor neglect. This had to do with her child who was ill. Because of the illness, the child had missed way too much school. This caused the legal/social services system to get involved. They determi...ned this could be made into a criminal as well as civil case. Not being sure how to hire a lawyer for this type of case, I had spoken to a few lawyers. Mr. Stanley was very articulate on what could happen and what he would do. I felt he was a good match immediately and hired him. After the first two pretrial meetings, the DA gave notice that they were considering changing the charges to felony neglect charges. Mr. Stanley obtained medical records, information on this disease and other medical information specific to this child. I cannot believe the volumes of information he sifted through to prove the child was not neglected and was within the realm of normal for a child of that age with that disease. Mr. Stanley's wisdom and knowledge had such an impact on the medical professionals, they willing wrote statements to further back his research on this case. He carefully went through all the police and social service reports to glean the details of their findings. All this information from the various places were skillfully combined to form his argument for dismissal. The compelling and comprehensive argument that Mr. Stanley wrote to the DA, clearly showed that the case should be dismissed, not upgraded. I believe that based on Mr. Stanley's argument, the DA finally realized that there was insufficient evidence to prosecute my sister on any criminal charges. The DA dismissed the case the day before the trial was to begin.

Top Notch Attorney that saved my life

I was charged with Assault in Denver. As a result of this criminal charge, I was living my life thinking I would have no future career, facing burdens of unemployment and finding places to live. Attorney James Stanley saved my life. His tedious, aggressive work saved me from a life of misery. Th...e first thing that I noticed about Mr. Stanley was his communication. We spoke nearly every single day. He returned responded to every email, voicemail, and made sure that I was in the loop. Sometimes I was scared to read the emails because I feared I wouldn’t like what I read. Which leads me to another point, his honesty. While keeping me in the loop, he informed me of every single finding related to my case. Sometimes the findings were good and sometimes the findings were not so good, regardless he made sure I knew about everything and we discussed every single point. After my first conversation with Mr. Stanley, I could tell he was my best option. I felt comfort and trust with him, which from what I have heard can be hard to find in lawyers. Another great attribute about M. Stanley, is that he was relentless and has a tenacious work ethic. He explored every possible avenue of attack and defense on my case. We spoke about every possible outcome in my case whether it was good or bad. Due to his nonstop work and efforts, we were able to dissect the case and find numerous defects in the prosecution’s case. I appreciate the fact that Jim looked at every possible avenue we had. During my case and communications with Mr. Stanley, he went out of his way to have his staff reenact what happened to see if they could find anything that could be good or bad for my case. By doing this we were able to see where a jury might find certain avenues of belief or disbelief on each party. The fact that he went out of his way to do this was very comforting. It only added to the sense of comfort and confidence in his work and just showed me how much he cares about his clients. Mr. Stanley put together an amazing package of evidence and information to be presented to the courts and prosecuting attorney. Due to his efforts we were able to get my case dismissed after just one court date; this seems unheard of. Other lawyers I had spoke with about my case seemed skeptical of my story, the outcome, and me. Mr. Stanley took me in with open arms and I must repeat this; I think he saved me a life full of misery. I believe Mr. Stanley is top notch and I would recommend him to any person that ever needs a criminal defense lawyer. He will listen to you; he will give you the honest truth every step of the way even if you don’t like what you hear. You want someone who looks at the facts, someone that will use their experience to get you the best possible outcome, and that’s exactly what Mr. Stanley does. He doesn’t care about how big the payout is, he cares about you, your life, and your happiness. He will be there every step of the way to support you, guide you, and do his very best in making sure you get the best outcome possible. Words can’t really describe how good he is at what he does. He truly uses his intelligence, expertise, and experience in the art of dealing with criminal law and prosecuting attorneys. I just want to say thank you Jim. You really did save my life in so many ways, it would have taken a miracle to find success in this world as a working man if it hadn’t been for your work. Thank you, Joseph Brown

"I endorse this lawyer. I'm a lawyer in Connecticut. A local client needed a referral for a DWI arrest in Colorado. Very fortunately we found Jim Stanley. He won the DMV hearing even though the facts were not all that favorable and he negotiated a plea to avoid loss of license. I was involved as intermediary. Jim was readily available to me and the client. The results could not have been better. I heartily recommend Jim."

"I've worked with Jim for many years, first as a felony prosecutor and now on my side as a criminal defense attorney. I have great respect for his knowledge of the law and fairness that he brought to prosecuting my clients. He was always a man of his word, and that is not universal in our profession. Now as a criminal defense attorney, he brings a huge advantage to his clients as he knows the inside of the opposition, how they think and work, and can turn that to his clients' benefit. He also has excellent knowledge of the law, much more so than the average prosecutor, which again only works to the benefit of his defense clients. I recommend Jim highly."

"I have practiced on the other side of the courtroom during Jim's tenure as a felony prosecutor of the Jefferson County, Colorado, Office of the District Attorney. I can say that at that time Jim was a formidable opponent who prosecuted cases fairly and ethically. Now that Jim has been practicing criminal defense law, I can see that he is investing the same degree of care, knowledge and proficiency he invested as a prosecutor in each criminal case he defends. I have been thoroughly impressed with the dedication and resourcefulness he invests in the defense of his clients who face pending criminal charges. His defense to say the least is vigorous and thorough. Jim is one of the best criminal defense lawyers I have known in my seventeen years of practice as a criminal defense lawyer, and of course, I would enthusiastically and without reservation recommend Jim to anyone facing charges. He is what I call a top-drawer attorney. Peter D. Larato Attorney at Law"

"JIm has recently left the world of prosecution and entered the world of private practice. I've known him since my fledgling days in the Jefferson County DA's office over 16 years ago. Recently, I've managed to have several cases against him when he was a prosecutor. I have always found Jim to be passionate about his cases while open minded about resolution. He is a strong advocate for his clients and always prepared for court. He has managed some of the largest dockets in the state and his trial practice is paramount."
