James Stanley has over 35 years’ experience in criminal and DUI law. He has handled thousands of criminal cases and has conducted over 150 jury trials to verdict. Mr. Stanley is a former Colorado Senior Deputy District Attorney. This background and experience provides a unique ability to effectively evaluate the merits of a criminal case, detect defects in police investigations, recognize when an individual's constitutional rights have been violated, discover procedural errors and make the right decisions on how to handle the case. Game Changer!!!

My son needed the assistance of Jim Stanley because of a false allegation made by a girl. He was facing Felony charges that would change this family and his life forever. There was just so much to lose, we spoke to several attorney's hiring none of them. Jim Stanley from day one, made me feel comf...ortable enough to share his story without judgement and giving a real sincere feeling of concern for the life of my son. I had spoken with other attorneys, either they were vague or presumptuous, giving me a sense that they were there for the pay out and didn't truly care about the life of my son. For a mother or a family member trying to handle this not knowing anything about the law, its extremely stressful and feels hopeless. Jim Stanley, took all of this away and left me with feelings of hope for the future. He's persistent and his perseverance along with his impeccable reputation as a former prosecutor himself, is what turned this case around. He wrote a 62 page argument to the DA using red and yellow color to point out what needed to be seen so it wouldn't get over looked. Because when a case gets really big, things and details get over looked. Not with JIM STANLEY !!!!! He didn't send 1 demand letter he sent 5, he then followed it up with voicemails and phone calls asking to speak to supervisors. He ask for exculpatory evidence, that in his experience couldn't be given. He made sure someone was listening to him. Because you see, the states DA is over run with cases. It's easy to get shoved under a rug. NOT, with JIM STANLEY. He never gave up or gave in.. If you are your loved one needs the help of a Professional Legal team to FIGHT for them...LOOK no further. Even if your case looks unbelievably bad. My son failed to appear, jumped bond and left the state. This case was a Domestic violence felony assault case. Even if the original charges were dismissed another felony could have be added because he left the state. JIM STASNLEY and Team is your team!!! They got the case COMPLETELY DISMISSED IN IT'S ENTIRETY !!!! I pray in Jesus name that we never need Jim Stanley for anything else. This was a five year fight for us across three states. Domestic violence assault charged DISMISSED

Jim was able to achieve an extraordinary outcome in my case. To convince a prosecutor to completely dismiss a domestic violence assault case in Colorado is rare. He put together a comprehensive and compelling argument for the prosecutor, consisting of 33 pages with attachments. He contacted the main ...witness in the case and found discrepancies in his account to the police. He repeatedly contacted the prosecutor by phone, mail and email, presenting our case and repeating his arguments to ensure he was heard. He made it clear to the prosecutor that he would take this case to trial if it was not dismissed. Jim has a reputation with prosecutors of not backing down and taking them to trial to fight for his clients, and he put that reputation to work for me in my case. Jim consulted with other also experienced criminal defense attorneys in his office on what tactics to use in this case and brainstorm of how to build the best defense. He brought in a second lawyer just to handle the complaining witness. The accumulation of all the efforts described above produced the best possible outcome to my case...a dismissal. On a more personal note, Jim was somehow able to help me feel at ease during the most stressful time imaginable. His communication skills are off the charts. There is no need to guess what comes next or what to expect. He even lets you know when he has received each email. I genuinely felt cared for throughout this whole process. His fee structure serves the client more than it serves him. I cannot recommend Jim highly enough.

FELONY ASSAULT CASE DISMISSED

I was wrongly charged with a felony assault in Jefferson county. After speaking with several attorneys, I decided to entrust James Stanley with my case. He was very thorough in our initial consultation, where he explained in detail what he would do and what I could expect during the process. I wa...s very impressed with his extensive experience within the court system and felt confident in his ability and expertise. He was in constant communication with updates about my case and he was always very quick to reply to any of my concerns. I am so thankful that I went to James because he went above and beyond to help me during this stressful time. James was able to achieve an incredible outcome in my case and was able to get my felony Assault charge with serious bodily injury dismissed in its entirety, which is very rare in Jefferson County! This District Attorney’s office is known for its tough stance prosecutors, who will attempt to squeeze some kind of conviction out of any case, but he put together a concise and effective argument outlining the defense in my case. He took a very aggressive approach with the prosecutor assigned to my case, which resulted in this complete dismissal. James Stanley is an expert attorney and well worth the cost. Assault Case in City of Wheat Ridge

Our son was charged with assault in the City of Wheat Ridge. My husband, son and I met with Mr. Stanley regarding the case, explaining all of the details with him. Our son was on edge initially, as he was scared and upset about the entire situation at hand. Mr. Stanley explained what his plans were o...n how to handle the case and advised our son to take some initial steps to help the overall outcome of the case, which our son did. Mr. Stanley kept us apprised of everything that was going on, from continuances to any conversations that he had with the City Attorney. My son's case ended up being continued a couple of times. After the first continuance, Mr. Stanley advised us that he was able to reduce the charge to harassment. He then contacted the officer involved in the case, talked to him along with the other person involved (who was also charged in the case). Mr. Stanley was able to obtain pertinent body cam footage that helped our case. When our court date arrived, Mr. Stanley met with us at the courthouse and put our minds at ease that he was going to get us the best outcome possible. After meeting again with the City Attorney and the other person involved in the case, Mr. Stanley talked to my son and put him at ease about the outcome. The Judge dismissed my son's case completely and agreed to have the record sealed that day! We were very nervous going into the courtroom. We have never been through anything like this and don't know what we would have done had we not hired Mr. Stanley to represent our son. He truly went above and beyond our expectations and got the best outcome we could have asked for. When we initially met with Mr. Stanley, he asked our son if he liked to read, which he does. He said he was going to bring our son a book the next time they saw each other. After we left the courtroom, Mr. Stanley gave our son a book that he had promised that he was going to give him to read. Again, going above and beyond for his clients. We couldn't have asked for a better attorney to work with and to help us get through a difficult situation. We are forever grateful to Jim Stanley for everything he has done for us!
